The SUMMER-TIME FUN continues this September and October with Erik Nelsen’s ALL-NEW round-robin Beach Camp! These 8 weeks, every Wednesday or Saturday program will include surf instruction at River Jetties, Kayaking, Stand-up Paddle Boarding and Bodyboarding at 15th Street Beach & Bay and exploring the beach, ocean and tide-pools of Little Corona Beach in CDM.

A big south swell greeted these campers on Wednesday but they held steady and confident, pretty impressive. Stoked on their efforts all week. 👊🏽

An energetic group of campers joined us this week. Watching the confidence build wave after wave has been a treat to watch. Hard to say goodbye to group of future surfers tomorrow.

A big shoutout to Dan for making him comfortable trying surfing. My son is an athlete but was timid in the waves before. Now he is already asking to return next year.

Super fun “Bay Day” at 15th Street Beach & Bay Sports at Marina Park today ☀️

These young and enthusiastic campers got to learn how to kayak and paddle board with the help of your amazing staff! 😎

We even got a little cool down from our local NPFD harbor safety boat 🙏🏼

Tomorrow they are off to 15th Street Beach to boogie board and surf.. what ? .. talk about fun week ! 🤙🏽

We are so excited to welcome back Jaclyn Winsor to Ocean Adventure Program! 🪼🐳🐙

Jaclyn grew up in Newport Beach sailing, swimming, and spending time at the beach. Jaclyn grew up working as a sailing instructor and staff member at Ocean Adventure Program. She has worked with Ocean Adventure Program since 2011, where she learned that working with children and the ocean was her passion so she became an elementary school teacher.

She currently works as a 1st and 2nd grade Special Education teacher. Her passion with teaching is to teach students coping skills, self-regulation strategies, and social-emotional health.

Jaclyn is excited to be the director of Ocean Adventure Program this summer and ready to inspire ocean safety and love for marine life for all campers.

The days are getting longer; the beach is heating up and the school year is almost done.

Do you have summer plans for your kids? 😳

Why not send them to one of Erik Nelsen’s All-Day Beach Camps? Erik Nelsen, a renowned local surfer, has been running his programs for 38 years and are the #1 youth beach camps in Orange County. They offer 4 unique programs: Erik Nelsen Surf Camps / All-Girls, Erik Nelsen Surf Camps / Co-Ed, 15th Street Beach & Bay Sports and Ocean Adventure Programs.

Not only will your child learn how to surf in a safe environment, but they will also learn about ocean safety & awareness, tides & waves, the marine environment & ecosystems while building confidence in and around the ocean. While some learn to Standup Paddle Board, Body Board and Kayak others will explore tide-pools, try snorkeling, and do lab experiments, dissections, and peer through microscopes in a classroom setting.

The CPR & First Aid trained staff is top notch with excellent ratios (4 to 1), easy carpool style drop-off and pick-up for parents, multiple sunscreen applications and of course safety is priority #1. It’s a first-class organization, with structure and endless FUN that Erik provides at all his programs. These camps are the talk of town!

They welcome each new camper with camp tee shirts and a hat on Fridays. Boards, wetsuits, tents, and all equipment are provided, their staff apply sunscreen throughout the day and each camper will receive a photo of themselves surfing at the end of the week including a Friday pizza party and take-home goodies bags.
