Our Client requested a unique look for his 8-chair, state-of-the-art dental office. Our team blended two different types of masonry with coordinating horizontal cementitious siding to create the eye-catching style he was hoping to achieve.

Monday Memory

Our design for 580 City Center Blvd., home of The Coastal Virginia Surgery Center was completed in the fall of 2020. Retail, offices, and state-of-the-art ambulatory surgical facilities to serve the Hampton Roads community. The team from worked hard to navigate through the complexities of COVID and still produce a stellar building that will serve the community for many years to come.

Monday Memory

The Causey Residence was great project we completed in 2018. After the client toured one of our LEED Platinum Certified homes, the clients commissioned us to design their custom, high-performance home. After designing the barn for their 25-acre farm, we began design on the couple's new passive & active solar, energy-efficient, ICF & spray foam insulated home. Protected by Western shade trees, this home is stunning, comfortable and efficient. Detailed with natural wood beams, and rough-sawn timber, the home is light-filled, warm, and welcoming.

Our site visit on Wednesday this week revealed some great progress by W.M. Jordan Company on the new Wild Care Center at Virginia Living Museum.

We were invited to participate as a corporate partner in the NNPS Engineering Design Challenge. Over 25 elementary schools sent teams of 4 students to participate in the challenge. The students learned about architecture and were challenged to create a pencil sketch, digital plan, and Lego model of their projects. Kevin Wiggins from our office spoke about working as an architect with physical models and virtual 3D models, he then participated as a judge of the student projects. Great time for all.

Our design of 460 Commerce Center recently broke ground in Isle of Wight County. The 352,000 square foot Class A industrial building is being developed by W.M. Jordan Development, Isle of Wight County, and Isle of Wight County Economic Development.

This week our team participated in a continuing education seminar held by ! A product we found particularly interesting for making the most of a gathering space was the Skycove window. As Marvin puts it, "The Skycove is a projected glass structure that creates a smart extension of up to 20 square feet of valuable space without extending a home’s footprint." Have you given any thoughts to evolving the way you interact with your space?
