⁣ .⁣ Single Leg Good Morning w/ Tidal Tank This exercise places emphasis on lower body stability, AND foot/ankle activation. Like I often say, the feet and the ankles are the most neglected body parts. Without proper foot and ankle activation, it’s impossible to perform ANY lower body exercise properly. This exercise focuses on: 🔵foot and ankle activation/mobility 🔵hip mobility, 🔵hamstring and glute activation 🔵strengthening, 🔵core strength stabilization/balance 🔵force production from the glute that creates POWER. Still feeling stuffed after yesterday’s feast? When you consume lots of food, your stomach has to physically expand to accommodate the additional volume, potentially leading to some discomfort and some digestion issues. Here are three yoga poses to get your digestion moving again after turkey day. ⭐️Bridge Pose⭐️ 🔵 To enter this pose, place your feet flat on the floor as close to your sitting bones as possible. Exhale and press your inner feet and arms into the floor while stretching your knees forward. Take 10 deep breaths here, then slowly roll your spine down to release. ⭐️Revolved Crescent Lunge⭐️ 🔵 From a standing position, lunge back with your right leg ensuring that both feet are pointing forwards, then twist your upper body to the left. 🔵 Inhale and place your hands in prayer position, twisting from your waist. 🔵 Gaze up at your left elbow and hold for five breaths. Inhale as you slowly stand up again, then repeat on the other side. ☀️WELLNESS WEDNESDAY☀️ Seated Cross-Legged Forward Fold and Hip Circles The seated cross-legged forward bend pose gently releases the back of the hips, stretches the back, shoulders, knees and ankles. It is an incredibly calming pose that relieves fatigue and quietens the mind. Seated Cross-Legged Forward Fold ☀️ Start sitting with the legs straight out in front of you ☀️From there cross the right shin in front of the left shin ☀️Look at your feet and try to get the feet underneath the knees, shins crossed halfway up ☀️Lengthen the spine up away from the hips and breath smoothly ☀️If you find that your lower back is rounding and the pelvis is tilting backwards then you need to sit on a lift – use a folded blanket or a block underneath the sitting bones to elevate the hips ☀️Take a long inhale ☀️As you exhale start to walk the hands out in front of you as far as you can, keeping the sitting bones on the floor ☀️Let the head and neck completely release ☀️Stay for 5 – 10 breaths and inhale to come up ☀️Straighten out the legs and repeat with the left shin in front Seated Hip Circles: ☀️Sit in a cross-legged position and grab your knees with your hands. ☀️ ☀️Keep the movement slow and steady, breathing naturally but without trying to synchronize your breath with your movement. Breathe through your nose if you can. ☀️Continue this clockwise movement for twenty to thirty seconds. Now reverse the direction and begin in a counter clockwise direction, for another twenty to thirty seconds. Releasing tension and stress from the body allows the mind to think clearly and remain focused throughout the day! ✨✨ WELLNESS WEDNESDAY✨✨ Feeling stiffness and pain in your back, shoulders, or neck? Thread the Needle, can provide relief! Thread the Needle Pose stretches and opens the shoulders, chest, arms, upper back, and neck. It releases the tension that is commonly held in the upper back and between the shoulder blades. This pose also provides a mild twist to the spine, which further reduces tension. ☀️ Begin on your hands and knees. Place your wrists directly under your shoulders and your knees directly under your hips. Point your fingertips to the top of your mat. Place your shins and knees hip-width apart. Center your head in a neutral position and soften your gaze downward. This is Table Pose. ☀️On an exhalation, slide your right arm underneath your left arm with your palm facing up. Let your right shoulder come all the way down to the mat. Rest your right ear and cheek on the mat, then gaze toward your left. ☀️Keep your left elbow lifting and your hips raised. Do not press your weight onto your head; instead, adjust your position so you do not strain your neck or shoulder. ☀️ Let your upper back broaden. Soften and relax your lower back. Allow all of the tension in your shoulders, arms, and neck to drain away. ☀️Hold for up to one minute. To release, press through your left hand and gently slide your right hand out. Return to Table Pose. Then repeat the pose on the opposite side for the same length of time. Releasing tension and stress from the body allows the mind to think clearly and remain focused throughout the day!
