NOPE! I don't always feel like working out but I do it because I know how it's great for my body and is one of the best antidepressants.

I eat whole foods because it's nutrient dense and will help me live longer. Motivation doesn't drive me, those facts does.. and by the way, the physical results are a beautiful by-product of a healthier life.

If the Dr told you that you were ill and needed meds, would you need motivation to take them? Do you need motivation to go to the dentist and brush your teeth? What about to work and pay your bills? You just do it because it's necessary.

I know you are busy but It's time to put YOU first and challenge yourself to get stronger, healthier, and better. You owe it to yourself. You are powerful! Much love.

You aren't sure what to do about your fitness goals around this time of the year but you know you MUST do something!

Your physical and mental health is on its last legs!

This leaves you feeling frustrated and lacking self confidence.

Let me help you with the fundamentals 🙏🏽

Start by:
✅ Writing down your goals. Be specific.
✅ Create a plan to achieve them
✅ Set a time frame to achieve them
✅ Have a system in place to hold you accountable
✅ Be patient

These steps aren't flattering at all but please don't skip them. There's power in the brain and hand connection as you write things down.

Lets be real. We can Google and YouTube ANY information on exercise and nutrition. So it's not that you don't know how to workout or eat clean..

The problem lies with your mindset and habits, whether it's..

⚠️ negative thinking
⚠️ past traumas
⚠️ comfortable
⚠️ lazy

Until you address this, you won't fully be able to enjoy the physical or Mental successes of health and fitness.

No amount of fasted cardio, HIIT, PR's, diets, can help you inside out.

No more self sabotaging.

Clean Eating vs. Flexible Eating

Are you someone who thinks that in order to lose weight you have to cut and eliminate all non nutrient dense foods❓ Do you aim for doing good during the week as long as you could "cheat" on the wknds❓

When it comes to the body's recognition of food for weight loss, your body doesn't see foods as good or bad but for its value.. ..

Be mindful because you may be consuming the amount of calories/energy whether it's cakes or salmon and asparagus.

Now of course food quality matters.. there's so many gut health and other health benefits from eating clean but as far as WEIGHT LOSS, the body sees energy/calories. Over eating or under eating your recommended calories won't help you lose weight. Make sense?

So what's the best approach❓I as a fitness coach believe in adhering to the intake needs of your body from all 5 food groups/micro and macro nutrients.. Protein, carbs, fats, .. according to the 80/20 approach.

80% nutrient dense whole foods.. 20% flexibility..

This way, you won't set yourself up for

are unsustainable and you will have a bad relationship with food after a while. Stick with this approach.
✅Learn your body's needs
✅Meet these needs within reason
✅Don't restrict yourself

Seems so simple and obvious when written out in emojis right?

Monday is the official "start over" day. You wake up, chug a green smoothie, pack protein and veggies for lunch.. and by Wednesday, you are DONE!

You Start craving carbs.. nothing is getting in the way of 🍕. Now since you've thrown in the towel and "slipped up," there's no point In trying to eat clean again until next Monday right?? I used to live this way too so don't feel bad.

🌟PRO TIP:: Wouldn't it be more effective to plan your meals, go into the week enjoying nutrient dense foods while not depriving yourself of less nutrient dense foods so that you aren't binge eating the latter half of the week?

Give this a try. Trust me, it works.

Track what's going into your body so you can effectively follow the 80/20 rule.

The all or nothing mentality has to stop. 🤦🏽

It treats exercise as punishment and foods as a moral decision. 😶

There are no "bad" foods. Only nutrient dense foods or less nutrient dense foods. 🥑🍩

Exercise Is a celebration of great things that your body is capable of. 🙌🏽

Do YOUR best and be consistent.

🌟 PRO TIP: Healthy fat loss is a result of being consistent in a calorie deficit while still getting adequate nourishment, movement, adequate sleep recovery, and a self love mindset.

🌟Theres a big difference between weight loss and fat loss..🌟

First off, if you are losing weight, it doesn't mean you are experiencing "quality" weight loss.

1️⃣You can get sick and lose weight.
2️⃣You can starve and lose weight.
3️⃣You can cut your hair & lose weight.

➡️The weight will come back. 😲

FAT LOSS on the other hand is 🔑

🌟PRO TIP: Don't miss the improvements to your body that don't always translate on the scale.

For ex. ❓Have you seen your waist getting smaller without losing a single lb?

❓Have people complimented you recently and said "Girl you losing weight!?"

That means you are losing "fat" and gaining muscle. ❗

Pay attention to your clothes.❗

Change your mindset today and focus on off scale victories. 💪🏽

BUSY MOMS: SAVE THIS POST IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE EATING HEALTHY BUT AREN'T DROPPING THE WEIGHT. 👈🏽

Weight loss should be simple. Living a healthy lifestyle shouldn't be complicated. 😎

But let's face it, we live in a world where diet culture is strong and labels are intentionally confusing. 🧐

So allow me to clarify ✅

🥤Diet sodas may have 0 calories but the artificial sweeteners in them disrupts your satiety hormones making it harder to tell when you are full (leading you to eat way more calories per day).

🍽Boxed meals that have words like "lean, healthy choice, smart, and low calorie" often are processed and laden with obesogens (artificial chemicals and preservatives known to cause obesity).

🍚"Low fat" means "more sugar."

🍪 Many "healthy" desserts have words like "all natural, keto, paleo, vegan, etc" stamped across the packages. Be mindful of the sugar alcohols

🥦Vegetable oil may SOUND fairly healthy, but it's actually a major cause of inflammation. Stick with avocado oil, coconut oil, and olive oil.

🌟I personally teach my clients food freedom. You should have a good relationship with food but also have an understanding of how to maximize your efforts and eat more nutrient dense foods.🌟

During your fitness journey, it may seem as if you are losing your grip and you may slip in the water.

Here's a secret I'll let you in on.

All progress takes place outside of the comfort zone 😲😲

✅ Eating more protein may feel different.

✅Getting up earlier may be a struggle

✅Lifting weights will challenge untrained muscles.

✅Drinking more water could seem like a chore at times.

✅Choosing non-alcoholic drinks when stress will be an adjustment.

✅Stress management will feel different when you aren't turning to food for emotional support.

✅Going out to eat will require more conscious choices.

✅Consistent workouts will require you to stick to a schedule when you don't feel like it or it's not convenient.

*Stop expecting to experience progress when you aren't stepping outside of your comfort zone.

➡️ You can experience the discomfort of not reaching your goals because you are in a comfort zone

OR

➡️ You can experience the discomfort of pushing outside of your comfort zone to a new level.
