Y’all, I have taken so many photos over the years. I’ve gotta up my posting game so I can share more of my favorite portraits! These were taken this past summer for and I just love how all of the photos turned out. Sally is such a ball of happiness!

I don’t photograph weddings—I don’t have the backbone for it. I do, however, 100% photograph spooky themed elopement portraits of fun people who get married on Friday October 13th.

Ashley and Jeremy were the first formal/elopement portraits I’ve taken in *years* and it was an actual dream of a session (aside from me rolling one of their pumpkins into the gross ravine stream/drainage😬). I can get behind spooky elopement portraits all day long.

Throwback to my toddler sized son in a random cedar tree /shrub farm with Christmas lights. I mean, you can’t deny this is the cutest photo and it’s like 8 years old🥹

Got the chance to photograph PR extraordinaire this past summer. Can I just say that working with women is so inspiring and motivating? Elisabeth started her firm In 2016 and it’s currently the 16th fastest growing PR firm in Richmond🤯 So amazing to watch her work (she represents DUKE’S MAYONAISE😲 amongst probably other more famous clients, but Duke’s?!? Mind blown). Thanks for opportunity to photograph y’all!

And some horizontals of ’s soft opening back in October. The space is so unique, artistic, and inviting. The back patio just makes it all feel like one big family get together—highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area!

I mean, a bottle shop and pizza joint (made with SOURDOUGH) right down the street? Yes please🤤

I’ll never be consistent on IG😂 but I was looking back on photos from the year and this session with .design back in May was incredible. Summer is the most talented designer and is equally fun to work with. Isn’t her studio dreamy? If you’re in Atlanta and need an amazing interior designer, she’s it.

Let’s talk portrait+headshot session types! There are so many, but here are a few that I offer:

1: Naturally lit artistic headshot/portrait (photos 1-2)

These are my favorite! Simple, yet powerful images where we incorporate artistic elements (think double exposure, motion blur, movement). Perfect for creatives who want to be a part of the creative process during our session.

2: classic studio headshot (photo 3)

Usually taken on a solid backdrop, these are perfect for a quick update for company directories, social media accounts, and resumes. They’re perfect for those who don’t want the frills—just the professionally lit photos of their dreams😉

3: indoor lifestyle portraits (photos 4-6)

These portrait sessions take place indoors at your place of employment, business space, home, school, library, etc. These can be naturally lit or lit with studio lighting, but more often are lit artificially. They are perfect for website rebranding, marketing material, about pages, social media content, and more!

4: outdoor lifestyle portraits (photos 7-10)

These are a fun way to incorporate your favorite places into your headshots—places like the beach, your front porch or backyard, in the streets of a small town or big city. These are lit completely with natural light, and while that leaves us to the mercy of Mother Nature, we can create beautifully dynamic, fun photos!

Spring is coming, y’all. IT’S COMING! Which means summer, which means evening walks on the beach. I cannot wait🙌🏻

I talk about Rachel a lot because:

1-she’s my real life friend from my El Salvador days with the HELP+Hogar program (2009😳)

2-she has an amazing podcast for mothers. Seriously. Legit top-tier, non-guilt inducing, uplifting, down to earth/real life, high quality podcast. And it’s only 30 min🙌🏻 Quick and highly fulfilling.

And 3: she’s freakin hilarious. Honest-to-goodness, cry-with-laughter funny. Friends like that are hard to find. I wish I could share the outtakes from our photos together. They were *amazing*, but I’ll keep things professional😏

She’s the realest. It’s always the greatest privilege to photograph her, her business and her family💜 and her ADORABLE pup Petra😍

It feels appropriate to post photos of Jasmine from .basis on MLK Jr. Day today. Are you familiar with her work? Her podcast and elementary education are life changers! They explore the realm of anti-racist work and culture surrounding past and current day racism. She is one of the most empathetic, thoughtful, intelligent humans I have had the privilege to know, and her work is truly life-changing!

Also, isn’t she beautiful? I was nervous as we were taking photos because we had less light than expected, but after showing her the edited photos, she cried out of gratitude. One of my favorite reactions to date🥹

I once had a professor say to me, “What is the point of this photo? It’s a pretty snapshot anyone could have taken, so what’s the point?” It was a portrait that I had planned to use in an application portfolio, and while I felt mortified during our interaction, it’s now something I ask myself on a regular basis—is my work just pretty snapshots? Or have I given it purpose?

A few things about me are that I love novelty, intentionality, and experimentation. Whether it’s playing with light, motion blur, film, composition, or even just creating simplicity amongst chaos, I always like to incorporate it into every brand and portrait session I capture. And that is how I create purpose in every single one of my brand+commercial portrait sessions.

Your session will look like you and your work, but it’ll have tiny bits of my soul in it too. The perfect recipe for magic✨

Recently found out I will become one of the newest (and youngest💁🏼‍♀️) members of the Women’s Club of Hilton Village!🥳 I’m honestly not 100% sure what that all involves, but I know they do a lot of good for the community and I can’t wait to be amongst women coming together to be sources of good for the community.

Counting down the days till I get to return to run by friends of mine, the Evans (from my Puerto Rico days!). I’ll be photographing their newest, itty bitty baby🥹 I’ve gotten to photograph 3/4 of their new babies. I feel like I may as well be related at this point😍
