A few trips between the raindrops. Light tackle Striped bass fishing remains good, with a mix of slots and oversized fish. On the bottom fishing front the fluke are improving, some sunshine should help kick it up a notch. The first Seabass showing up, bodes well for the opening of the recreational season. Our early season fluking is underway. A nice mix of shorts and keepers, with a 8 lb mini mat to start the run. May and June typically see some of the best fluke fishing of the year. Our striped bass half day trips continue to produce slot and trophy fish daily. A smattering of bluefish sprinkled in as well. Mixed bag bottom fishing is getting underway. A mostly striped bass focused last few trips. The daytime bite has been as good as it gets with a mix of slot sized and trophy fish on light tackle. A few gorilla bluefish mixed in for variety. Another week of June Newport Rhode Island fishing. Trophy and slot sized striped bass lead the way, with fluke to 9 lbs and party/charter black Seabass now open. Zach and friends for 2 days of bottom fishing and eeling striped bass provided smiles and bags of filets for the ride back to Pennsylvania. John Toppa with his personal best fluke this week.
