The hippocampus is the part of your brain that is crucial for creating and retrieving memories. The hippocampus is very vulnerable to injuries associated with Alzheimer's disease. It shrinks more and more with the advancing stages of Alzheimer's. From the mild stages of not being able to remember names or why you walked into a room to advanced stages when you can no longer walk safely or remember how to brush your teeth.

As a physician for over 20 years in geriatrics, caring for patients in the late stages of Alzheimer's, my hope is that I can help you avoid this situation. There are actions you can take to reduce the risk of hippocampus shrinkage and increase brain growth factors that protect, repair, and enhance the hippocampus function.
