Hilton Pottery
B.R. Hilton is a 4th generation potter in the Catawba Valley area of North Carolina.
We are saddened to inform you that another member of the Hilton Homeplace crew has passed away.
Judy Petrie, artist and producer of exquisite Cameo, Underglaze painted and Blue moon decorated pottery, passed away yesterday peacefully at her home in Blowing Rock, N.C.
Judy began decorating greenware on Boyd Hilton pots in the early 1980's. After his death produced pieces from various Catawba Valley potters including Charlie Lisk, Kim Ellington the Bolicks from Blowing Rock among others.
Her attention to detail and craftsmanship were obvious to all who enjoyed what she fired and produced.
We would ask for your prayers and privacy as the family mourns. A private celebration of her life will be held in the future.

we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2021 Annual Hilton Homeplace Pottery Show.
We were looking forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks, but operating out of an abundance of caution for our customers and our artists’ safety we will be cancelling this year’s show and open for sales by appointment only until further notice.
Thank you all so much for continuing to support local artists and small businesses. We appreciate you, and look forward to gathering safely in the future. Stay safe!

We’re used to setting up and looking forward to seeing you all the Friday after Thanksgiving...but the spike in COVID cases and the risk it poses to our customers and potters will prevent that this year. While it’s as disappointing to us as it is for you all, we look forward to seeing you again when it’s safe. Until then we’ll keep making new things so you’ve got a great selection when we’re ready to see you again!
Normally this week would’ve involved setting up tents and spreading out wood chips and generally getting ready to host our Annual Hilton Homeplace Pottery Sale. 2020 has changed most everyone’s plans and our show was no different. We are heartbroken that we had to cancel this year’s event, and will miss seeing you this year, but we’re looking forward to seeing you again as soon as it is safe! Have a great weekend!
For the first time in 16 years we won’t be able to celebrate the Annual Hilton Homeplace Pottery Sale with you all...2020 has taken away a lot of what we used to consider “normal” and we are sad to say the pandemic has caused us to cancel this October’s Show. Your safety is our primary concern, and we hope to be able to serve you again after Thanksgiving. Stay tuned here and we will update in the coming weeks! Thanks for your support and stay safe!
Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19 and the risk it poses to our customers and artists, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 17th Annual Hilton Homeplace Pottery Sale. We hope to be able to see you (from a safe distance) in the very near future. Until then, stay safe and keep following us for updates (and a peek into what will be available as soon as we can safely serve you!) Have an amazing day!
