Dear Dance Community,

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Dance Fire student, Betsy Tyler.

We are shocked and saddened by this news, as Betsy had just performed a wonderful West Coast Swing showcase on June 9th, one of her favorite dances. She was also working on a special Waltz routine for a September performance at Crossgates Mall.

Betsy was one of our first students, joining us just days after our Grand Opening on November 20th, 2017. She was a cherished member of our dance family and will be remembered for her kindness, beauty, and love of dance. Her love for dance was only matched by her love for cats, and rescuing them was an important part of her life. She always had the best cat stories and pictures to share with us all!

We invite all who knew Betsy to celebrate her life at:

- Wake: This Friday, June 21st, 4:30-6:30pm at Daly's Funeral Home, McClellan Street, Schenectady.
- Memorial Service: Saturday, July 6, 1pm at Unitarian Universalist Society of Schenectady, Wendell Avenue, Schenectady.

We will also hold a special social dance in Betsy's honor later in July.

Congratulations to Jacopo and Julia on receiving the Ron Curry Scholarship from Capital USA Dance! Our young dancers were invited to perform a fun Jive showcase at their Monthly Dance Social at PCC!

This scholarship will be used towards Jacopo’s and Julia’s first dance competition in October and its preparation.

We are grateful to be part of such a supportive dance community! Thank you!

Dance Fire at American Star Ball🔥🔥🔥

Congratulations to our dancers on a successful weekend in Atlantic City, New Jersey! Thank you to Amanda Reyzin for organizing such a beautiful event!

We started off enjoying the Professional competition and cheering on Dance Masters Florin and Natalia. Congratulations on placing 2nd out of a Semifinal in the Open Professional Ballroom Championship!

On Sunday we warmed up bright and early and our Solo Stars, Anna Sophie and Solomia, set the dance floor on fire, placing from 1st to 4th! A special congratulations to Solomia on winning the silver medal in Paso Doble and to Anna Sophie- on her silver medal in the Foxtrot! These are the most difficult dances to learn at a young age! We are proud of you!

Later in the afternoon it was Rachael’s and Dance Master Andrei’s turn to dance their hearts out! And they did so well winning all dances! Congratulations to Rachael on her huge improvement!
