As we head to Arizona today to attend our last show of the season, The Copper Caprine Dairy Goat 4 ring show this weekend in Sonoita we are feeling very blessed! All our babies we posted this week have found new herds and we are so grateful for that. This week we did our 5th milk test of the season and the does are holding their production even with this heat! Now we get to enjoy some camping fun with the goats. Looking forward to enjoying time with our SoCal friends making the trek to the show and our Arizona friends.

We really were fortunate and blessed this year having so many nice doelings to choose from for our keepers, but it’s hard also because Laz would like to keep them all or a lot of them but I know we can’t. His days are full to the max as it is, and we really do need to cut down on the number of kids we have. So here is another breeding that gave us another set of triplet doelings and these two littermate sisters born on 3/12/24 are up for your consideration now that we have finally decided who to keep out of the three (it was hard). These doelings are out of our 2 year old 2F Amores Farm Esme (GVVE88@02-00) and Amores Farm Rising Sun *B. Rising Sun is the son of our very special Wolfivan Tootsie Roll 4*M (EVEE92@04-01) who was 10th place 4 year old at the 2023 ADGA National Show and Amores Farm Milo *B, his paternal Grand Dam is our beautiful GCH Hidden Hills Sweet Tea 8 *M (EEEE92@05-00) who was 18th place 2 year old at the 2022 ADGA National Show. Rising Sun was going to be our junior herd sire but we ended up having to sell him instead due to unexpected vet bills. So when Esme came into heat right before he left to his new herd at Last Chance Ranch, we decided to give it a try even though he was really young. He was a good boy and settled Esme and gave us triplet doelings!!
Esme’s 2F udder is looking fantastic and she is maturing nicely, has done well in the show ring and is on milk test. Esme’s Dam is GCH Hidden Hills G Sweet Valentine 4*M (+EVE88@04-06) who is Best in Show x3 and her Sire is Wolfivan Zazerac *B who is GCH x1 and RGCH x3. Zazerac dam is SGCH Joyful Hearts KR Phoebe 2*M (VEEE91@04-03) so he is a maternal brother to this years ADGA National Champion and Best Udder, the one and only GCH Wolfivan CQ Ginger Root 3*M (VEEE92@04-02). This pedigree is packed with fantastic udders, great LA scores, champion wins and national placings.

Will work with air transport (weather permitting) and ground transport.

Our herdsire CH Amores Farm Kealoha *B gave us quite a few doelings this kidding season. Not only did he have 16 doelings and 7 bucklings for us this year but there was a set of quad does and 2 sets of triplet does!! We are loving the consistency in all his kids but can’t keep them all as our junior doeling pen is full, we’ve decided on our keeper and these two sisters born on 3/1/24 are up for your consideration and priced to move.
I’ve included pics of relatives on both sides of the pedigree to share the many fabulous udders and LA scores in these genetics.
The dam to these doelings is our 2 year old (2F) Agape’s Prize Zip Code 4*M (Codi), who is the daughter of GCH Old Mountain Farm Zipper 3*M and her sire is Agape’s Prize Goldie Cox who is the son of the 2021 ADGA National Champion CH Wood Bridge Farm 22K Gold (Frenchie). Codi is a great milker and did 5.8 lbs of milk on her 1st milk test this year and is projected to milk 1085 lbs with this lactation.
Kealoha, the sire to these doelings is the son of our beautiful GCH IlenesRascals Love Bite 1*M (VEEE92@04-00) who has a phenomenal udder and was 14th place 3 year old at the 2023 ADGA National Show and 5th place 2 year old at the 2022 ADGA National Show. His littermate sister Amores Farm Fancy Love 2*M (VVEE89@02-01) has her dry leg and was 7th yearling milker at the 2023 ADGA National Show. Kealoha easily finished his championship this year as a 2 year old becoming the 1st Grand Champion buck in our herd.
If you are looking to add great milk and show genetics to your herd, these doelings are a great choice.

Up for your consideration are these 3 golden beauties born 5/1/24. CH Amores Farm Kealoha *B and GCH Amores Farm Lexus 4*M (VEEE91@02-04) blessed us with quad doelings this year and we have finally decided which one we are retaining. Lexi, the dam to these doelings finished her championship as a 3 year old and was 11th place 3 year old at the 2023 ADGA National Show. Lexi milked 1085 lbs of milk, 63 lbs of fat and 47 lbs of protein during her last lactation and is projected to milk over 1100lbs this lactation.
Kealoha, the sire to these doelings is the son of GCH IlenesRascals Love Bite 1*M (VEEE92@04-00) who has a phenomenal udder and was 14th place 3 year old at the 2023 ADGA National Show and 5th place 2 year old at the 2022 ADGA National Show. I love it when we get to share our goat life with friends! Today we had a visit from Andrea, one of my hospital co-workers and her sweet family. They came to get baby chicks but Laz was ready to send them home with some of our baby goats 😂! Instead they got to bottle feed and snuggle with the babies.

Our kidding season ended on June 14th and now that I’m catching up on stuff, I realized we never shared our stats. I like making this post every year because it really puts into perspective all the hard work that goes as a family into kidding out this many does and the countless hours that go into keeping everyone healthy, watching cameras for the goats in the kidding pens (many sleepless nights), assisting when needed in deliveries, caring for babies and bottle feeding them and of course milking the does twice a day and can’t forget training the first fresheners to the milk stand. All this wouldn’t be possible without all of Laz’s hard work everyday specially since kidding season is also show season and milk test season.
Overall we had a great kidding season and are very thankful all our does made it through and are healthy. This is the 1st year we’ve had more doelings than bucklings and had 2 sets of quad doelings and 4 sets of triplet doelings. Those deliveries were very exciting!! This kidding season was also exciting for us, as we had 4 successful AI’s and even though we got 8 bucks and only 4 does from those breedings we are happy with the outcome and learned so much.
We kidded out 28 does this year and here are our stats:

78 kids born February-June 2024
💗Does: 46
💙Bucks: 32
Days pregnant range: 140-146
Day time deliveries: 23
Night time deliveries: 5
Quints: 1
Quads: 7
Triplets: 8
Twins: 9
Singles: 3
We want to take this opportunity to thank all the families/herds near and far that took interest in our herd as we couldn’t do this without your support!

Since we won’t be going to Nationals, we’ve decided to utilize this time to update our website, start working on our breeding plans for the fall and most importantly post our available kids and does in milk.
First up are these two littermate sisters out of our 2 y/o 2nd freshener Amores Farm Esme (GVVE88@02-00) and Amores Farm Rising Sun *B. Rising Sun is the son of our very special Wolfivan Tootsie Roll 4*M (EVEE92@04-01) and Amores Farm Milo *B. It was painful to let Rising Sun go last year as a buckling as we were planning on retaining him but needed to, when we had unexpected vet expenses with one of our does. We had a chance to breed him to one doe before he left to be a herd sire at Last Chance Ranch and he was a good boy and settled Esme and that breeding gave us triplet doelings!!
We are retaining one doeling but these two beauties are available and ready to go.

Yesterday was the end of our kidding season and we ended on a great note. The 1st doe to kid yesterday was our beautiful yearling “Shine” Wolfivan Sun Is Shining (Wolfivan CQ Kentucky Bourbon *B X GCh Hidden Hills Natural Mystic 7*M EEEE92) who kidded with twins 💗💙! Shine was bred to GCH (pending) Amores Farm Kealoha *B (Castle Rock Sutter’s Gold *B X GCH IlenesRascals Love Bite 1*M VEEE92). We are super excited for these kids with the genetics behind them. Shine’s Dam Mystic was the 2023 ADGA Total Performer and her sire Kentucky Bourbon was the 2023 Premier Sire, Kealoha is the newest finished champion in our herd and his dam Love Bite has one of the best udders in our herd. We can’t wait to fill Shine’s udder in a couple weeks.

We love when we hear updates on our goats and how they are doing in other herds. Look at how beautiful Amores Farm SG Love Spell (Lovie) owned by Channell Homestead looked last weekend. She was 2nd place out of 24 kids in the Intermediate Kid Class under judge Mark Baden at Little Sunny Sisters Dairy Goat Show in Massachussets. Lovie is a special little doe! Lovie was one of quad does that our (pending) GCH IlenesRascals Love Bite VEEE92 blessed us this year with, and Lovie couldn’t have gone to a better home. Thank you Christianie Channell for making her shine!

The boys are headed out today to the SCDGA Nutty Goat Show in Valley Center. I‘m not feeling well so I’m staying home. I’ve never missed a show since we started showing 6 years ago and showing is a family affair for us, so it feels weird staying home. I’m so bummed I won’t be there to be the boys ring side helper, their photographer and I won’t get to see our goat friends. Wishing everyone a great show!

We took some Senior does, Junior kids and 2 of our Senior bucks. The judges were amazing and made the weekend so much fun. Todd Biddle, who was the judge for Ring 3 will be the 2024 ADGA National Show Judge for Nigerians so it was very nice to hear what he had to say about our goats!

I love how bonded these three first fresheners are. They are inseparable and will be enjoying motherhood together. Hidden Hills Lady Jasmine (Wolfivan Mad Max X Hidden Hills It’s Show Time 8*M) on the far right delivered triplet does a week ago and we are very excited about her udder. Hidden Hills Water Lilly (Hidden Hills Chase the Legend *B X Hidden Hills River Blossom 8*M) was due yesterday and her pre fresh udder is looking 🔥. Water Lilly was bred to Amores Farm Kealoha *B, our newest finished Grand Champion (ADGA pending), fingers crossed we get a doe 🤞🏻.
Flying Feets HHZ Do-Re-Mi (Hidden Hills Zilean *B X Lucy’s Lady Bug Lyric) on the far left, is due in about 2 weeks and she is bred to Wolfivan Zazerac *B. Zazerac has given us some beautiful daughters that have freshened with very correct udders and he has done great at the last 2 shows we have shown him at, getting GCH x1 and Reserve GCH x2. We are very excited for all these babies.

Look what we got tonight! Our first freshener Hidden Hills Lady Jasmine (Wolfivan Mad Max X Hidden Hills It’s Show Time) just had the easiest kidding we’ve had all season. She made no fuss at all and quickly delivered three beautiful doelings 💗💗💗 with no assistance. Two are chamoisee, which we don’t have much in our herd. This kids are sired by Springwater PPT August Glo *B.
Our kidding season is winding down with 1 more doe due kid next week and 2 does due middle of June.

🔥S6 & S11 have found their new herd.

Over the next few days we will be sharing some of the doelings, bucklings and does in milk we have available because we can’t keep them all. Even though my other half (Laz), sometimes thinks otherwise. One of us has to be sensible 😂.
I’ve included our updated kidding schedule with what is currrently available. So if you see something you are interested in, please send us a message!

It’s that exciting time of year when we get to see what the first freshener udders look like shaved up and filled. We are liking what we are seeing and look forward to seeing their progress through this lactation.
🌼First pic is Amores Farm AG Camellia (Springwater PPT August Glo *B X Amores Farm Black Iris 9*M) Camellia has been a favorite here since she was born as she is one of our Riptide grand daughters. She has her Junior Grand Champion leg and was the first junior with our herd name to win Best in Show. She was part of our 2023 Nationals show string and she placed 8th in the intermediate class at Redmond Oregon. She freshened almost 4 weeks ago with quads 💗💗💙💙and on her 1st milk test at 23 days fresh she did 3.4lbs of milk with 12% butterfat! Camellia will be our first 10*M when she receives her milk star.
https://genetics.adga.org/PedigreePrint.aspx?RegNumber=D002292891

🌼Second pic is Amores Farm Love Story (Wolfivan Zazerac *B X Amores Fancy Love 2*M) or “Eli’s goat” as we call her around here. Eli liked her from the minute she was born, named her and she became his show goat for the 2023 season. Love Story is a Zazerac daughter we are very excited about. Her dam Amores Farm Fancy Love 2*M scored VVEE89@02-01 and her Grand Dam IlenesRascals Love Bite 1*M scored VEEE92@04-00 on linear appraisal last month!! Love Story freshened a couple weeks ago with triplets 💗💙💙 and she did 3.4 lbs on her 1st milk test. We are looking forward to getting this beauty back in the show ring.
https://genetics.adga.org/PedigreePrint.aspx?RegNumber=D002316910

🌼Third pic is Amores Farm Z Sweet Chai Tea (Wolfivan Zazerac *B X GCH Hidden Hill Sweet Tea 8*M). Chai is one of the only two daughters Sweet Tea has given us and a Riptide grand daughter so she is special just because of that. Chai was part of our 2023 National show string and she was shown by Eli and placed 12th in the Junior class in Redmond Oregon. We loved her 2 year old sister Amores Farm Sweet Heaven 9*M so much, we repeated the breeding! Chai reminds us a lot of her dam Sweet Tea at this age and we hope she follows her footsteps. Sweet Tea was the 1st doe in our herd that Laz finished as a champion and she scored EEEE92@05-00 last month during linear appraisal.
Chai freshened 3 weeks ago with a single 😢 but at least it was a beautiful doeling 💗 and she did 2.9lbs of milk and 12% butterfat on her 1st milk test at 15 days fresh. Chai will be our 3rd 9*M in our herd when she receives her milk star!
https://genetics.adga.org/PedigreePrint.aspx?RegNumber=D002326695
We will have doelings available from possibly all 3 of these first fresheners. Message us with any questions.

Tonight we are feeling blessed! Our beautiful GCH Amores Farm Lexus 4*M had quad does sired by Amores Farm Kealoha *B. Lexi is very special around here, she was our 1st homegrown Grand Champion and the 1st doe to score a 91 on linear appraisal in our herd at 2 years old. Lexi kidded with quad does last year (1 was DOA) and she made the trip with us to Redmond Oregon and was 11th place in the 3 year old class at the 2023 ADGA National Show, so this amazing doe has made us proud many times.
Last fall all those amazing moments came crashing down when Lexi was diagnosed with mastitis with one of the scariest bacterias out there. Our hearts sank when her culture came back with pseudomonas and we set out to do everything possible to help Lexi get better as we were so worried about her health. Lexi on the other hand never skipped a beat and continued to be the strong goat she has always been and didn’t act sick at all or mind any of the treatments Laz did, she even milked 1082 lbs of milk in 272 days with only half of her udder working during the last 2 months of her lactation before we dried her up early. After a long treatment, lots of prayers and a few negative cultures we decided to breed Lexi again. Fast forward to tonight where she gave us 4 beautiful doelings again (quad does 2 years in a row!) because….Lexi is an overachiever!
We want to give special thanks to the wonderful vets that helped us with Lexi’s care, specially Dr. Drake and Dr. Martin and everyone that helped us out (you know who you are) with recommendations, treatment ideas or by sharing your knowledge of this awful type of mastitis. Without you all... Lexi’s outcome might have been different. We know Lexi is not out of the woods yet and we will have to watch her closely and send cultures again but for tonight we will count our blessings and rejoice in our 4 new golden beauties.
