The Mayor Berwin Hanna Bridge is officially open! 🤩
Thank you to all of the elected officials, dignitaries, government agencies and community members that came together to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the Hamner Avenue Bridge and Widening Project and the dedication of the Mayor Berwin Hanna Bridge.
In December 2020, following a community request, the Norco City Council approved the dedication and naming of the new bridge in honor of former Mayor Berwin Hanna. During his tenure, Mayor Hanna, who is instantly recognized by his trademark cowboy hat, has made persistent regional efforts to champion the construction and funding of the Hamner Bridge Project. The new bridge stands as a testament to Mayor Hanna’s enduring legacy and symbolizes his unwavering dedication, selfless service and profound impact on the Norco community.
🚨 **Important Public Safety Alert** 🚨
On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at approximately 10:17 AM, Norco deputies responded to a distressing call at the Wells Fargo bank located at 140 Hidden Valley, Norco. A concerned mother was on the phone with an individual who claimed to have kidnapped her daughter and was threatening her life unless the mother emptied her bank account.
The mother, fearing for her daughter’s safety, heard a muffled female voice in the background pleading for help. Believing it was her daughter, she stayed on the phone with the alleged kidnapper and was unable to verify her daughter’s whereabouts. While inside the bank, she discreetly passed a note to the teller, asking for help.
Thanks to quick action by our deputies and the cooperation of Wells Fargo staff, we were able to locate the daughter at a different location in the city of Corona. Corona PD responded immediately and confirmed that the daughter was safe and not in any distress.
After further investigation, it appears that this incident was a hoax or scam, exploiting personal information to create fear and demand money. Corona PD has reported several similar calls over the past few months.
⚠️ **Please stay vigilant and be aware of these types of scams targeting our community.** If you receive a call like this, try to stay calm, verify your loved ones’ safety, and contact law enforcement immediately.
Our deputies are committed to your safety, and we will continue to work diligently to protect our community from these dangerous scams.

🚴♂🍧 Safety First and Fun Times with Deputy Corlew! 🍧🚴♀
Protecting the safety of residents and their animals is our top priority! Earlier this week, we celebrated some fantastic young riders who were out on their electric bicycles, equipped with the proper safety gear. 🛡️🚲 Deputy Corlew was so impressed by their commitment to safety that he rewarded them with a refreshing ICEE on this warm day. 🌞🍹
⭐️ Safety and Rules to Remember:
1. Age Restrictions: You need to be at least 16 to ride a Class 3 e-bike.
2. Helmet Use: Helmets are mandatory—think of them as your superhero gear. 🦸♂🦸♀
3. Speed Limits: Keep it under the speed limit. If your bike exceeds 750 watts, it’s classified as an e-motorcycle, not an e-bike.
4. Road Rules: Stop at stop signs and red lights. Ride like you’re a car, but cooler. 🚦
5. No Riding on Horse Trails: These trails are reserved for horses. Give equestrians their space as they can be easily startled.
Check out our happy riders with their ICEEs. 😄📸 Keep riding safely and responsibly!
