The most common texture in today’s homes is called Popcorn Ceilings.
Drywall Tape: A Tape that is applied to all seams created by new drywall installations and/or repairs.
The tape allows a flat surface for the drywall

Common Questions & Answers:
Q: Why is a video better for estimating than pictures?
A: Pictures are good, but they are usually taken very close to the
damaged drywall and don’t always tell the whole story. A video,
taken walking up to the damage, shows the work area clearly and
gives a perspective that an estimator can use to calculate square
footage, for an entire wall or ceiling, for example, a perspective
usually absent in close up pictures.
Q: How long will my Drywall repair take?
A: It really depends on the repair size, location(ceilings take more
time!) and whether or not the company doing the repair is also
doing the painting. Most single drywall repairs approximately 2 ft x
2ft will take 1-2 hours to repair, and then another 1-2 hours to
paint the Patch for a total of 3-4 hours. If painting the entire ceiling
not just the patch, add another 3-4 hours.
Q: How much will my Drywall repair cost?
A.: A Drywall repair cost depends upon the repair size,
location(ceilings take more time!) and whether the company doing
the Drywall repair is Painting, how much Painting and who is
supplying the paint. According to Home Advisor, “The cost of hiring
a contractor to repair damage to drywall ranges between $274 and
$784, depending on the extent of the damage. Based on over 10,000
customer responses, the average spent was $529.”
This Home Advisor average cost of $529 does not include Painting.
Q: How do I know my drywall repair is any good?
A: Most anyone can do a drywall repair with the kits available on the market
today, but only a select few technicians working for a Drywall Repair companies can do them correctly; that is, when painted properly Drywall Repairs should disappear from sight. The skill and method needed to make repairs disappear takes years of practice to achieve and constant use to maintain.
Q: What is Painting The Patch vs. Painting the whole wall mean?
P: After a Drywall repair is completed and made Paint Ready, a homeowner has two choices: Paint The Patch or Paint the entire wall or ceiling. Painting the Patch or just the repaired area is less expensive, but you will almost always see a difference on the wall or ceiling between the new paint and the existing paint on the wall due to aging(fading, smoke, dust, etc). Painting the entire wall or ceiling is more expensive, but guarantees a seamless paint color throughout that wall or ceiling.

Done Right Drywall Repair treats your home like it's our home!!
It's hard enough to patch this hole 9 ft up in the air, but then to have to match the stippling to perfection, this job was definitely Done Right!
DRYWALL REPAIR ESTIMATING: Looks SIMPLE but it Ain't that SIMPLE..I've been estimating jobs in the Home Service space in Atlanta since 1994.
I use the following 6 part weighted, estimating formula for most drywall repair estimates!
1.the hole(s) size, 3”-16” approx same cost, 16”-24” approx same cost
2.how many holes
3.Texture(stippling) or painting
4.location on the wall or ceiling(How many technicians)
5.Location in the home in relation to access
6.I use factors 1-5 to figure out Set up time, prep the hole time, mud application and mud dry times, time to match and get paint from a local paint store, paint application and dry times after priming and first coat, break down and load up time.
There’s a lot more to it when you get right down to it, If it’s Done Right that is!

Review by Bert B. in Sandy Springs, GA
Project: Repair Drywall
Comments: David and his crew were fantastic. Our ceiling caved in at 5 pm on a Saturday, and they were here cleaning up within an hour, then repaired it all on Monday.
This is our second trip to this fraternity at GA Tech. I really can't tell you how these holes happened, better not to ask, but 6 hours later, you would have never known!!
A Crawlspace behind the stair wall flooded into this finished basement. Before we arrived, a small strip of drywall had been cut out in order to remove the 2"x 4's behind that had been destroyed in the flood. Done Right Drywall Repair replaced the 2" x 4" 's along these two walls and under the stairs before finishing the drywall. Looks like new! This job wasn't easy and took most of the day.
To Be Or Not To Be a Good Contractor: That is the Question!!
Use Reviews and pages to grade Home Service Contractors on the Entire Installation Process BEFORE-DURING-AFTER the job, NOT just the Installation Itself.
You come home from work, it’s late, you’re exhausted. You reach for the garage door light switch, you throw the switch, nothing, Crap!
The following thoughts surge through your tired brain: Whom do I call? I don’t know any electricians. How much is it going to cost? When can they come out? Am I going to have to miss work? I don’t have time for this. How do I know they won’t take me for all I’m worth?
Then the Final dagger: you type ELECTRICIANS Atlanta into the search engine on your cell phone. Up pops page after page of companies you’ve never heard of before all promising to be the best of all time at the lowest price, I’m doomed!!
Sound familiar?
I’ve owned and managed multiple Home Service Companies in Atlanta since 1994.
But I’m also a Homeowner. And when I need something fixed at home, I don’t always have a trusted referral up my sleeve to call.
So how do I decide what Home Service company I’m going to hire when the list goes on and on and I don’t know whom I can trust?
I use reviews and page videos and Posts just like everyone else—the difference is I look for and keep track of comments on the entire installation process NOT just the installation itself like most people.
Every job in your home can be laid out in three(3) stages ---Estimating(Before)---Installation(During)---Warranty(After).
From my experience with my own companies as well as many others, truly GREAT Home Service companies get A’s in all three categories, mediocre Home Service 1 or 2 , and lousy service companies maybe 1 if that.
ESTIMATING: When reading reviews and posts see if you can find customer’s talking about the initial stage of any Home Service job, the estimate; Was the contractor his/her company responsive and easy to work with? Did they show up to the estimate on time? Was the estimate itself easy to understand and presented in a professional manner? I always find at least find 3-5 comments that that speak to the customers experience on the front end of the job, before the contractor was hired. If a contractor is sharp before they know they have made any money, there’s a better chance they will sharp throughout the installation process.
INSTALLATION: The installation is what most people concentrate on when reading reviews in order to choose a Home Service Contractor. Of course, the quality of installation has to be spot on, or you shouldn’t use the contractor. But keep in mind this is only 1/3 of the project process so read those reviews and make sure the technicians are certified if applicable and experienced, but don’t stop there. Also pay attention to see if the crews showed up on time, worked in an efficient manner, and left the house as clean or cleaner than when they arrived.
WARRANTY: A lot of contractors I know, unfortunately, think that the job is done when they get paid and the technicians leave the customer’s house. But we all know that’s not true. No matter how high the quality and the experience of the technicians, things can and will go wrong. Make sure to find some reviews that speak to the Home Service Contractors willingness to warranty their products and services AFTER they leave your home.
I know it’s hard to find a contractor and even harder to let them work on your home if you don’t know them personally or have used them before, but if you do a little more digging into reviews and pages and focus on finding comments on the Beginning or Estimating Phase, The Middle or Installation Phase and The After or Warranty Phase, you will give yourself an great shot at finding an amazing Home Service Contractor in Atlanta.
Good Luck!!
