The crew of USS Oscar Austin had the honor of joing the Mayor Wu and the city of Boston in celebrating Independence Day! Happy 4th of July!
The crew of OSA toured the beautiful city of Boston and the historic Freedom trail yesterday. We invite you to come celebrate the nations birthday with OSA with a tour of onboard our mighty warship.

USS Oscar Austin had the pleasure of hosting a reception for community leaders and the Navy League from the local Boston area. It was our distinct honor to welcome aboard the following distinguished guest:
-The Honorable Mr. Tony Verducci, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy
-RADM Derek Trinque, Director, Strategic Plans, Policy, and Logistics (J5/J4) United States Transportation Command
-RADM Michael Platt, Commander, First Coast Guard District
-CDR Crystal Schaefer, Commanding Officer, USS Constitution
And on behalf of Mayor Wu, Commissioner Robert Santiago, a retired Navy Veteran and Commissioner of the City of Boston Veteran's Services, proclaimed July 2nd 2024 as USS Oscar Austin Day in the great City of Boston!

The crew of USS Oscar Austin has been seen around Boston spending time with the local community! The crew has already begun making everlasting memories with the people of Boston by playing games at local schools and dancing up an appetite at the beloved Chowderfest 2024.

Man The Rails!!
The Mighty USS Oscar Austin pulls in to Boston, Massachusetts to take part in the city's annual Navy Week and Boston Harborfest. The crew is set to participate in several community events and give tours to the general public of our fine warship.

Oscar Austin sailors put in some hard work on the range yesterday! Sailors from the USS Oscar Austin participated in a in-port pistol range in order to support the transition to the M18 service pistol.

This week Oscar Austin had a very special visitor, Major (U.S. Army) Mikhail “MJ” Jackson the cousin of our namesake PFC Oscar P. Austin. Major Jackson was able to come aboard for a conversation with the XO and a tour of our great ship! Thank you for your visit sir, we are proud to uphold the legacy of your cousin and family every day.

The ship is entering a Crucible training team environment! While underway Oscar Austin completed our latest Crucible event. The Crucible a ship wide team building event for new crew members. Events included berthing egress, PT on the missile deck, an anti-terrorism scenario, triage skills, and damage control! For more photos check out the link below!

Our team out west keeps making us proud! Happy to be serving the community of our Namesake PFC Oscar Austin and spreading the word about our amazing Navy!
Oscar Austin has headed west! This week a group of OSA sailors is in Phoenix, AZ at . As part of those activities our sailors were able to visit the grave of our namesake PFC Oscar P. Austin to pay their respects and participate in a service memorializing him and other Marines from Arizona.
Last week we were able to promote and recognize one of our own! Congratulations to Master Chief Seminara on his well deserved promotion! His dedication to our crew and Navy is an inspiration to us all.

Yesterday Oscar Austin held our last “all-hands” call of the year to recognize our 4th quarter Sailor and Blue Jacket of the quarter, give out a few awards and recognize some recently frocked sailors. Congratulations to all awarded and frocked!
Did you hear about our masquerade? The fantastic MWR team onboard Oscar Austin threw our annual holiday party last night with the theme of a masquerade ball! Thank you to all who showed up and celebrated the exciting year we have had onboard.
At today’s all hands call we had the opportunity to recognize and congratulate some of our recently frocked sailors. Congratulations to all of them and a BZ for all of the hard work they do every day to keep the Oscar Austin in top shape!
Happy Thanksgiving from the USS Oscar Austin! We celebrated aboard with duty section and family with a lunch provided by our very own culinary specialists. Who had some help serving from the CO!
