Responsibilities

Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to physicians
Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients’ charts
Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders
Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)
Provide instant medical care in emergencies
Assist surgeons during operations
Supervise and train LPNs and nursing assistants
Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences etc.
Skills

Proven experience as a RN/LPN
Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
Excellent knowledge of emergency care
In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsible and compassionate
Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
BSc or other diploma from a nursing program
Valid nursing license

We are seeking a Housekeeperto perform a variety of cleaning duties in support of maintaining a sanitary, safe, attractive nursing environment. Duties focus on cleaning equipment, fixtures, furnishings, and removal of trash and/or medical waste to designated areas, and stocking of expendable sanitary supplies for patient and public areas.

In this position you will:

Demonstrate knowledge and ability of sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, wiping, vacuuming, buffing, and disinfecting duties to facilitate a sanitary, safe, and attractive hospital environment
Clean and maintain all designated hospital areas assigned to, including its facilities, equipment, machinery, fixtures, windows, and furnishings in accordance with approved procedures
Collect, remove, and transport linen, trash, and medical waste to designated hospital area
Obtain and distribute assigned work areas with cleaning and expendable sanitary supplies
Participate in scheduled meetings and educational in-service sessions as required
Attend at least one continuing education experience during the appraisal year, either in-house or an outside offering
Communicate in a courteous manner during all contacts with patients, visitors, and hospital staff
Read, understand and follow detailed instructions
Maintain patient confidentiality
Is well groomed and wears a clean and neat uniform daily
Wear hospital identification badge at all times while on duty
Consider patient, manager/client background and work history to effectuate positive work experience/relationship
Respond appropriately according to age related needs and consideration

Job Summary:

The CNA provides quality nursing care to residents. Auburn Post Acute promotes resident rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality while providing individualized attention.

Understanding and ensuring that individualized care plans are followed and providing the charge nurse or other care planning staff with specific information, changes and observations of the residents' needs and preferences.
The CNA attends to the individual needs of residents including assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, or other needs in keeping with the individuals' care requirements
Provides care that maintains each resident's skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by changing incontinent residents, turning, repositioning immobile residents, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin.
Protects the personal belongings of each resident including eyeglasses, dentures, hearing aids, furnishings, jewelry, clothing, memorabilia, etc. Promptly reports missing items according to established policy.
The Certified Nursing Assistant performs various tasks assigned by the charge nurse including vital signs, residents' weights, applying creams/ointments, collecting specimens, as well as lifting, moving, and transporting residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention.
Responsible for keeping records documenting care provided or other information in keeping with department policies while performing all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated, and proper disposal of soiled materials.
Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the resident, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
The CNA is responsible for following universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
Performs other tasks/duties as assigned.
