Authors say, among U.S. young adults, the presence of a young adult’s own children and a spouse/partner is associated with lower risk for most examined patterns of substance use. A recent federal study published in JAMA Internal Medicine examines care following nonfatal overdose among Medicare beneficiaries & identifies effective interventions and gaps in care.
