Celebrate National Family Caregivers Month with Danbury Senior Living! Celebrated every November, National Family Caregivers Month is a time to recognize and honor family caregivers across the country.
Join us in acknowledging and honoring families all month who are often caregiving "around the clock". That means around-the-clock dedication, organization, responsibility, scheduling, and hands-on care. During National Family Caregivers Month, we raise awareness of the societal value provided by caregivers and we recognize the love and sacrifice of more than 50 million Americans providing crucial care and medical assistance to loved ones.
At Danbury Senior Living, it is our goal to help our residents live their best life, no matter what. From independent apartments to assisted living and memory care, we can provide care for most seniors regardless of the level of support that’s needed. If you or a loved one can benefit from moving to a more supportive living environment, please give us a call today.

It’s National Assisted Living Week and Danbury Senior Living residents and staff are CELEBRATING all week long!
We’ll be sharing the fun ways Danbury residents and staff will be celebrating assisted living. This year's theme for National Assisted Living Week® is "Season of Reflection."
The assisted living communities where our residents live are so much more than just that. They are places where caregivers, residents, family members, and communities come together as an extended family. Season of Reflection’ provides both the chance to welcome the changing season and the opportunity for local communities to celebrate the individuals who live and work in assisted living. It is important to take this special time to learn more about this sector of long term care and the important role it plays.
Established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, National Assisted Living Week® provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Join us as we celebrate this “Season of Reflection” that sets Danbury Senior Living apart and showcases the Danbury Difference!

Happy Grandparents Day!
Grandparents and children have a special connection that is proven to both make grandparents live longer, and also make children more emotionally resilient. Grandparents Day is an opportunity to treasure that connection and spend some quality family time together.
Danbury Senior Living is wishing all of our Grandparent figures across Ohio a day full of LOVE!
September is Falls Prevention Awareness Month!
Falls have become an epidemic in America and are now the leading cause of death due to injury for those over 65, and account for 40% of all assisted living admissions. Falls are also the leading cause of injury related emergency department visits for older adults, the major cause of hip fractures, and are responsible for more than half of fatal head injuries. Nearly half of all seniors sustaining a fall DO NOT resume independent living.
Educating yourself about the risks is only the first step in preventing your loved ones from taking a life-changing stumble. The next step is to take necessary action to reduce the risks, while being well prepared in the event of a fall.
Many falls can be avoided. When we are out in public, we instinctively keep watch for uneven or slick surfaces that could catch our loved ones off guard. But the risk of falling can be even higher at home because it is easier to take for granted more familiar spaces. This means it is especially important to make our homes as safe as possible. The good news is that a little bit of effort can make your home A LOT safer.
1. Remove tripping hazards.
2. Increase lighting.
3. Make stairs safe.
4. Install grab bars in key locations.
On August 21st, National Senior Citizens Day recognizes the achievements of the more mature representatives of our nation. The day provides an opportunity to show our appreciation for their dedication, accomplishments, and services they give throughout their lives.
Their wealth of knowledge, skill, and experience offer so much to the next generation. As technologies advance, these are the people who’ve experienced each step of change. Not only have they contributed to it, but they understand first hand the benefits and the drawbacks. They know life without the advancements that exist today.
Today, seniors are still active in their communities as well as continuing to have a strong presence in the workforce. Their valuable contributions to our communities create better places to live. They deserve the respect and dignity their achievements earn them. For all they do and have achieved for the good of their communities, senior citizens deserve our thanks!

What is Memory Care and How is Care at Danbury Different?
When your loved one has received a dementia or Alzheimer’s diagnosis, they need more specialized care than what a typical assisted living facility is able to provide. We all want our loved ones to receive the best, most dignified and respectful care possible, especially in their vulnerable condition.
For memory care patients to experience the highest quality of life possible, physical activity and social engagement are vital aspects of their care plan. Danbury’s life enrichment programs are adapted for the needs of our memory care residents to meet the needs of the whole person.
As you search for facilities that have memory care units, look for the following features to ensure your loved one will be well taken care of. Read more on the Danbury Blog Here: https://www.danburyseniorliving.com/blog/2023/07/24/what-is-memory-care-and-how-is-care-at-danbury-different
Your loved one deserves the highest quality of care as they advance in age. We would love to give you a tour of our memory care facility to help you decide if Danbury is right for your loved one. Visit our memory care unit at a Danbury community near you!

Danbury Senior Living is CELEBRATING all of our amazing Nursing Assistants across Ohio. June 15-21st is National Nursing Assistants Week with the theme of “We’re Unstoppable.”
This week is to recognize our nursing assistant’s hard work and dedication in the care of our residents and loved ones. Nursing assistants are responsible for the 24/7, hands-on care that our residents, who are no longer able to do daily tasks on their own receive.
Nursing assistants are an important part of our Danbury healthcare team in their roll of caretakers to our residents. The care they provide contributes in a big way to the overall wellness and well being of the individuals they care for. What they do matters so much to each person they serve. Danbury appreciates all of our nursing assistants and their dedicated hardwork exemplifying the Danbury Difference!
