Alive Festival this weekend...

ALIVE FESTIVAL needs load-out.. Please read below and let me know if you are interested ASAP .THIS SATURDAY.

Skillet is the headliner, and they finish up their show at 10:30pm. Immediately following the show we have to immediately load out Skillet (a pretty elaborate stage design and tear down, cool to see it torn down if you are a stage person), as well as load out Stageworx our production company. They would be doing load out from 10:30pm to completion which depending on how many stagehands we have and any complexity in load out could be wrap up about 1:30 – 2:00am typically but they go until complete and it also could be earlier than that. This is a great opp to see how load out works for a large scale rock show and how they manage production load out on the big SAM 575 stage.

This is big production load out so you need to have closed toed shoes, must be able to lift at least 100 lbs. We could use 6-10 people in total, but would take whoever you have that is committed, capable, and interested. The biggest thing is they have to be strong enough to push, lift, and hustle a bit to get Skillet out and back on the road as they have a show the next day and will be hustling to get off the stage. If the students did this, they would learn a lot if they have never seen or done production load out.

If you have anyone interested, we would provide them with a free day pass to the festival on Saturday (the main stage bands run from 4pm -10:30pm so they could enjoy the festival if they chose to do so), and they would just need to report to main stage immediately following the show at 10:30pm sharp for team instructions.

We’re excited to announce that we are returning to the Lock 3 stage on Friday, June 7th at 7pm. We have a great line up and set planned for you all so don’t miss it!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT:
Danny Klotz
After graduation, I plan to pursue a career as an audio engineer in both studio and live performance environments. My experience at Kent State Stark has allowed me to craft the skills necessary to be capable and confident in any pro-audio situation. I look forward to entering the professional world and beginning my career. I would like to give thanks to all my professors during my time at KSU, but especially Professor Ian Anderson, Professor Erin Vaughn, and Dr. Michelle Bagwell. These professors were with me from start to finish and were instrumental in shaping my education in the world of music. I would also like to give a special thank you to all of my family and friends who were by my side for the ups and downs on the roller coaster of college.

Joe Reeves
After graduation, I plan on continuing to work for Apple as well as securing a job as an audio recording engineer. I look forward to continuing to perform and record my own music. I am thankful for all of the friendships that I have gained throughout my time at Kent State Stark. We’ve had a lot of fun, learned a lot, and survived.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT:
Robert Bever
When I graduate, I plan on continuing to work at The Chapel in Green as their Live Production Tech and job hunt until I can find some studio jobs, whether local or distant. During that time, I will continue to write only the best music and hopefully release some albums on the side. I'd like to thank my fellow seniors for their helpfulness and insight in any feedback I was seeking and their willingness to help. I'd also like to thank the faculty for their dedication to the students and their success. A special thanks to Dr. Bagwell for her amount of effort and dedication to helping me whenever a problem arose with my classes or advising needs.

Devin Brumfield
After graduating, I plan on working at Weathervane Playhouse as a sound technician. I’m thankful for all the friends I’ve made during my time here. I am grateful for all the memories and the wonderful things I’ve learned here.

Spencer Bagwell
After graduation, I plan on continuing to work for the Chapel in Green as their audio recording and music production technician. I am also opening my own exotic car company. I am grateful to all of the faculty that has helped me succeed. I would like to thank my friends for helping me survive Mfun, MacGamut, Artusi, practicals, and Acoustics. I will forever be thankful for all the memories.

Ethan Tonkel
After graduation, I plan to find job opportunities that align with my goals of becoming a professional audio engineer. I also plan to continue to develop my proficiency as a guitarist through further instruction and more gigs. I would like to sincerely thank the fine arts faculty for all their assistance on helping me grow as a producer, engineer, and as a musician.

Hello dear reader of this goofy little self-promo. I am Nicki, Nico or Nixx-it online. I love singing, learning, and making music with my friends. I am currently a Senior Music Tech student in the Music Production concentration. I am very grateful for the skills I have learned so far and the people I've met here. Music brings us together and I hope that my silly little side of this crazy world is impacted for the better by my work. I graduate this fall and hope to continue making music for contract remotely after graduation. Hug all your friends for me!
