Immense pleasure and happiness today for UDCC as our founding member and the heart of and soul of UDCC, Trinath Polisetty scored his first career hundred today in the last game of the regular season. Trinath's century and two wickets helped UDCC win their last match of the regular season and helped UDCC qualify for the playoffs for the 6th time in our 7 seasons. The knock came against Eagles C at Wrentham II, a ground where T agonizingly missed out on a century seven years ago due to rain.
T opened the innings as UDCC was made to chase 228. T went about his business as usual, rotating strike beautifully and punishing the loose deliveries, his knock included 12 4's and 2 6's as he reached his milestone with a single to long off on his 95th delivery! Also, a big shoutout to Sreekanth for coming from Pennsylvania to play the game and doing a fantastic job as Trinath's runner.
We salute you Trinath for all the hard work and sacrifices you have made for UDCC, this club is what it is because of you. We hope to see you continue scoring runs prolifically these playoffs and for many seasons to come! Cheers T!

Good turnaround yesterday...Playing parking lot cricket with unexpected 52 deg weather...Bringing back memories of how UMASS DARTMOUTH CRICKET CLUB started back in 2010
UDCC opened up their 2015 season this past weekend on Saturday. We hosted Eagle Cricket Club A team in our first ever match in MSCL Division 1. Eagles batted first and our bowlers got off to a great start. Although the fielding was not perfect we managed to get the Eagles struggling to 128-7. Then last years MSCL Division 1's leading run scorer Muqadas Raza starting showing off his muscle and he hit a magnificent 71 off 40 off balls. His knock was full of boundaries and sixes as he carted UDCC's bowling. UDCC was able to bowl out Eagles for 208 with Muqadas not out on 71. UDCC then started their batting innings knowing 208 was very much a chase-able target on our home ground. However the innings got off to a shaky start with Eagles bowler Narasimha Challa bowling big Waqar Younis-esque banana in-swingers and our UDCC batsmen had no answer to his beautiful bowling. With some resistance from Prasanna and Vinay, UDCC was able to get to 86 before they were bowled out.
Overall there were some great things to see from this match especially our new boys giving it their all on the field. These boys look like they will bring a new dynamic to the UDCC team and we are excited about their prospects. We have a lot to learn in Division 1 and know as the season goes on we will learn and get better as long as we apply ourselves. This upcoming weekend we will be facing Boston Gymkhana Sports Club (BGSC) A, last years MSCL Division 1 champions. We have always had a special relationship with Boston Gymkhana and are looking forward to playing against some of MSCL's greatest players. For all those interested in coming out and supporting us the Match is on Saturday with the first ball scheduled to be bowled at noon. The match will be at Wrentham 1! We hope to see you there!
