You might not see every stuffie in every picture, because all of the stuffies were so busy having fun! But all of the stuffies are represented, we promise! Thanks to all who participated.

(A NOTE ON PARKING: Please respect fire lanes at the library. THE NPPD WILL BE TICKETING VEHICLES PARKED IN FIRE LANES THIS SUMMER.
We understand parking can be difficult during peak hours for programs, however, emergency vehicles need to have access to our parking lot and the pool and fitness center parking lot (while they are working on the building).
An emergency is unpredictable and clearance for vehicles is of utmost safety and importance.
If there are no open spaces in our parking lot, please park BEHIND the library at the pool and fitness center OR at the high school.
We empathize that it is not always convenient but your vehicle is safer in a designated spot rather than a fire lane. )
We have two more finishers! Shanmathi and Bhavatharini have each read 48 books and have gotten a second card to see if they can earn a lawn sign for their yard! Keep up the great work, kiddos! Awesome job!
Mateo won our first stuffie of the summer, Piggie! Every week we have a different stuffie hiding out in the Children’s Dept. This week is Corduroy! When you find him, you may enter a raffle to win him for your very own! Drawings are on Friday afternoons.

Celebrate Juneteenth Meeting Street is where children of all abilities thrive through individualized attention from highly trained professionals who work as a team to bring…
It was an awesome day at the RILA (RI Library Association) Conference to hear the keynote speaker, Raul the Third. He spoke a lot about his childhood growing up in El Paso, Texas, and how important libraries were to him there, and how librarians have helped him at critical points in his life to become the successful author and illustrator he is today. He had pictures of his summer reading log from when he was a child, showing that he did not read stories that reflected his Mexican-American heritage, because there weren’t very many for him back then. Raúl explained that writing about his heritage not only helped him find his creative voice as an author and illustrator, but has also helped children all across the country see themselves reflected in his stories. It made me feel proud to be a part of this wonderful profession. It was extra special that our MET intern, Jenny Cortez, who created the Bilingual Storytime at our library as her sophomore project, got a chance to meet and talk with a wonderful creator of bilingual children’s stories!
Starting this week, Summer hours are in effect.
We will be closed on Saturdays until after Labor Day.
Please plan your visits accordingly, including picking up Museum Passes for the weekend.

It’s our birthdays!
As I reflect on this last half decade, I realize how lucky I have been and how grateful I am to all of you who read, share and enjoy my books. Over the years I have begun to see myself less as an author and illustrator and more as a storyteller. And the thing about being a storyteller is that your work is only complete when there is someone to tell the story to. So it because of all of you that I have been able to find so much meaning and purpose—the things that make happiness— in what I do. So, I truly thank you for receiving my stories and continuing to do so. Here’s to many more years!🫶🎂🙏🎉🎈
Lots of fun being had after Ms. Jenny’s storytime today, singing to the dinosaurs and finding perfect hiding places!
