In our continuing efforts to bring greater value to our Ready To Roll models, we’re excited to announce our SD45 is now sound-ready and upgradeable. Adding sound is easy… just replace the slug with a speaker and plug-in your sound decoder. We’ve also modified the frame so a Genesis motor can easily be added for even more precise control.
In addition, the SD45 maintains roadname specific details like Erie Lackawanna and Conrail low profile roof details; Guilford/Springfield Terminal and N&W short-high hood; and SP specific features like “L” window, nose lights, and roof mounted bell. All SD45 locomotive include signal hoses, coupler cut levers, separately applied wire grab irons, and many more factory applied detail parts.
We’re adding these features to our already announced SD45 roadnames. And the best part, the retail is still just $134.98.

NS SD70M-2s shipped to retailers Wednesday 6/26.
The second NS order for 78 SD70M-2s was built at the EMD plant in London, Ontario, between January and April 2006. The units were numbered 2701 through 2778 and came with front and rear ditch lights. They see service on throughout the NS system and on all types of trains, including double stack, coal, manifest, grain and even garbage trains. They also regularly interchange to other railroads such as BNSF and UP in run-through service to pay back horsepower hours owed by NS.

UP #1995 shipping to retailers Friday 5/31
The fifth UP Heritage SD70ACe was built as UP 8522. Delivered to UP on June 17, 2006, it was moved to the Wisconsin & Southern paint shop at Horicon, WI, for painting. It was unveiled on July 15, 2006, in Chicago as Chicago & North Western 1995. Initially, it was assigned to the former C&NW lines between Proviso Yard in Chicago and Council Bluffs, IA, and between Proviso and St. Paul, MN, mostly on manifest trains. Since 2007, UP 1995 has been in systemwide service.

Western Pacific Heritage Unit restock. Delivered in primer white to the Wisconsin & Southern Horicon paint shop as UP 8383, the second UP Heritage locomotive emerged as Western Pacific 1983. It was unveiled along with UP 1982 during a private ceremony in Omaha, NE, in July 2005. UP 1982 subsequently entered revenue service.
