NRH After School Success

Our Story

In 2016 we had an idea.

That idea was how can we better serve our membership. Families were complaining about the after school program that their children were in. Statements like, “My child is not being stimulated enough.” or “Kids just sit in front of video game monitors.”

We also heard the following complaint. “It is so hard to rush from work, pick my son (or daughter) up from daycare and rush to get here for their evening classes.”

These same parents told me, “It would help us greatly IF you would pick up our kids and give them their karate lesson before I get off from work.” Other parents stated, “I know my child would be safe and challenged to progress more quickly.”

So, we decided to service a small group of our member families. We began by picking up kids from Snow Heights and Holiday Heights within North Richland Hills. Part way through our third year of our after school training program, we have expanded and we now get kids from International Leadership of Texas, C. F.Thomas, Smithfield Elementary, Mullendore, and Foster Village.
