We’ve been a bit quiet on the social media front lately, but we promise you, it’s for good reason! We’ve been working on everything from menu updates, to setting up an outdoor eating area, to launching a new restaurant concept through the kitchen of the diner. And this Father’s Day weekend, we’re introducing it all! Stop by the diner this weekend to enjoy our brand new virtual kitchen menu from !!! We’ll also have our regular diner menu available (abbreviated but with some amazing new additions!) AND we can now offer a B.Y.O.B. policy! We unfortunately cannot take reservations at this time, but stop by 8am-8pm this weekend, and we’ll either seat you right away or put you on our text-waiting list. Our Mother’s Day menu is extra special this year, because we know the amazing Moms in our lives deserve it! Our family brunch menu offers an entree, gourmet sides and delicious a la carte items, including a Bloody Mary Kit with all the fixings! Call by Saturday evening for Sunday pickup! ⭐️

It’s estimated that in the last two weeks, 5 to 7 million people lost jobs in the restaurant industry. And sadly, the American Star Diner contributes to that number. It took just a few days for us to feel the impact of this virus. Not weeks, not months....a mere few days. And not just financially, either. Walking out of the diner tonight, with the parking lot so quiet and the realization that this was a Sunday completely opposite of our typical hustle-and-bustle Sundays, hit hard emotionally. We miss you, our loyal customers. We miss hearing about your days, the updates on your families, your kind compliments and your constructive comments. We miss it all. This is a trying time for us, but we are committed to doing whatever it takes to stay open for our staff, our vendors, our customers, our community, our friends. That’s why every single carryout and DoorDash order means so much to us right now. Whether it’s a breakfast sandwich for one or burgers for ten, every order helps us stay in the game. UPDATE: We have received such an amazing show of support from our loyal customers recently, we couldn’t be more thankful and appreciative. With that being said, your support has really put into perspective how important you are to us. With your and your families’ health and safety in mind and at heart, we have decided to make the following changes to our existing services and operating hours.

⁃ We are closing this evening (3/15/2020) at 8pm.

⁃ Starting tomorrow, 3/16/2020, our hours of operation are 7am - 7pm, 7 days a week, for CARRY-OUT ORDERS ONLY. Curbside pickup and traditional carry-out available. **Note: There will be no table service during this time.

⁃ We understand that school closings may have an impact on students’ accessibility to a proper meal, so in an effort to give back to the community that has given us so much, we are offering free bagged lunches to area students who are in need. Stop in Monday thru Friday, 12pm-1pm, only if this service would be helpful to your family.

We do not take these adjustments lightly, as we understand and very much appreciate how much you rely on our service in the community. It also pains us to cut hours, send staff home, and not be available during the overnight hours for those working second and third shifts, but we feel that staying open as normal may contradict our efforts in helping to stop the spread of this virus. Please remember that this is only temporary, and we have exciting plans to bring the American Star Diner back to you and your families, better than ever. Thank you for your understanding during this time. We hope that you and your families stay happy, safe and healthy!

The concerns regarding the spread of the Coronavirus is impacting our lives tremendously, and we at the American Star Diner want you to know that helping our patrons and employees stay healthy and safe is our number one priority. Along with multiplying our existing health and safety procedures and implementing new ones, we are following the updates given and guidelines suggested by appropriate agencies such as the CDC and the Health Department. These decisions are being made out of care and caution, so please know that as much as we love serving you on a daily basis, we need to make some adjustments amid the current outbreak.
** To do our part in preventing further spread of the virus, we have decided to temporarily remove the salad bar. Soups and salads will be prepared and served from the kitchen on a per-order basis.
** We are increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting “touch points” throughout the diner.
** We are advising our employees to take precautionary measures when serving our customers and requiring them to stay home if they are ill.

With this being stated, at this time, we are still operating 24/7, and are promoting and highly-encouraging placing take-out orders.
** Please call us at 215-368-4848 or stop in to place a take-out order. We are happy to accommodate any size order.
** We are including a complimentary $5 gift card with every $25+ order placed.
** Curbside pickup available; give us a call when you arrive and we’ll bring your meal out to you.
