Today was Tuesday, January 16th. I Was so sick last night. I couldn’t stop coughing. My ribs were so sore I decided I would not go on the railroad tour that I was scheduled to take with Joan and Ed and the rest of the gang. So I was the buffet having a little breakfast and one of the men came over that I know and he says I’ve been looking for you. We’ve been holding the train for you. I told him that I wasn’t going. I’ve been sick with a really bad cold. This is the first time that I’ve been on a cruise that they actually noticed someone was missing from the tour and they went looking for them. Well that’s one advantage of being on a small cruise, I really think I’ve had Covid since everybody else had Covid when they came on the ship, and besides everything taste like nothing. Which isn’t the worst thing in the world. I’m feeling better. I’m actually getting bored with sitting in the cabin. I joined my group for dinner, which was a formal Night they’ve had very expensive things on the menu. One of which was pate de Fois gras. It ain’t chopped liver that’s for sure. It was absolutely awful. I didn’t take a picture, but the expression on Ed’s face was hilarious when he tried it! I went to the special services desk and changed my excursion for Picton, NZ which was a seafood Odyssey on a catamaran, and I decided that it probably wasn’t the tour for me. So instead, I am going to a pearl farm where they have blue pearls. I don’t know. Should be interesting. We’ve decided that we don’t really like these small ships. A cruise ship that has between 1,000 - 2500 people on it might be better. There are more things to do, better entertainment, larger casinos etc. it’s nice that the crew really gets to know you but there are a lots of downsides

I’ve been sick. I caught Joan and Eds and all that group from the Pacific poorhouse travelers had and I have been miserable. I’ve been sleeping 12 hours a night 12 hours during the day, and I have absolutely no energy, fortunately we’re not doing anything. I canceled today’s tour and Joan and Ed told me that it was very difficult it was uphill and it would’ve been very hard for me so that’s OK. Also we were told that it’ll be very cold and rainy and wear scarves and gloves and hats and I decided I did not need that, one thing about being on a small ship. Everybody knows what’s going on. I lost a tooth last week and we were looking for super glue to glue it back. I went up to service customer service and the guy said oh I heard you super glued your tooth back. so much for privacy, tomorrow I have a tour with a train at four hour train tour. That should be good. Hopefully I will be a lot better by tomorrow.

I’ve been on the ship for five days. The pros and cons of a small ship are the pros; you get to know other passengers, and the staff very well; layout of the ship is easy to learn, and it’s a very homey experience. The cons: are not as much activities on the ship, the shows are not as elaborate. The casino is definitely very very small. You feel the waves more on a small ship than on a larger ship. Maybe 1000 to 1500 passengers is a good fit size wise.

The first day on the ship was a sea day, So it was very relaxing. The second day was Philip Island, which was the home of the little penguins of New Zealand. The tour took us around Phillips Island, which was very pretty. the hard part was the tender ride to the pier on the island. I really needed a lot of assistance, getting onto the tender and going downstairs to get a seat. I didn’t do the nighttime tour of the penguins going to their nesting box at night. They say that was very interesting to see all the penguins come up on the beach and go up the hills to their nesting boxes to take care of the chicks. But I couldn’t brave the second tender ride.

That night sea was very, very rough. Everybody was seasick except for Ellen and I and we were the only ones came for dinner which was exceptional. The first course was lobster and the main course was beef Wellington. we went to the ship’s show at 9:30.

The next day was our day in Melbourne. I really like Melbourne city. It was very very green, clean and the residents are super friendly. I took an eight hour tour to the sanctuary and wine tasting and lunch. At the sanctuary I got a volunteer elderly guide to take me around to see the animals. the problem was, the gentleman was very nice but a little bit of a senile person. He asked me about five times with animals. I really wanted to see and Have I traveled a lot. I didn’t get to see the platypus, the wombat or the echidna, but I did get to see a Tasmanian devil. The devil was very ugly and about the size of a raccoon.

Melbourne city was originally settled by the convicts that were exported from England. In the mid 1800s they discovered gold and there was a gold rush. So people from all over the world came to Melbourne and settled there. They still have a lot of people settling in this area so the city is very multicultural and has all kinds of really good restaurants.

Yesterday and today are sea days. The ship is rocking but it’s not terrible.

We’ve been competing in trivia. Our team isn’t very good. Yesterday we came in last, so we were awarded the red lantern, which is the last prize that is given to the last finisher of the Alaska Iditarod race. Today we did a bit better, but we still did terribly. One of the questions yesterday was in 2002 what was Barbie given that she didn’t have and Ed said an IUD which cracked the whole place up. Even the cruise director said I don’t have an answer for that at all. The correct answer was a belly button. Another question was what 4 word message was sent by Morse code, and Richard said “I can’t hear you” and we cracked up about that because How can you hear Morse code. All you hear is dot, dash ,dot.

Personality and Temperament

Sometimes referred to as a long-haired Manx cat, the Cymric (pronounced kim-rick) has a reputation for being friendly, affectionate, and highly intelligent.

While the Cymric cat is tailless as a result of a spontaneous genetic mutation, some individuals do exhibit very short tails. Completely tailless Cymric cats are nicknamed rumpys. Those with up to three tail vertebrae at the end of the spine are called rumpy risers, and those with more vertebrae that form a short, movable tail are called longys.

Besides their intriguing appearance, Cymric cats bring delightful personalities to their families homes. They have a reputation for being both playful and gentle, and they make excellent companions for people of all ages.

History

While we know that tailless cats like the Cymric get their unique appearance because of a genetic mutation, there are quite a few old stories that attempt to explain why Cymric cats have no tails.

One suggests that the cats were late boarding Noah's Ark and after barely making it aboard, had their tails severed when they were slammed in the door. Another suggests that mother cats begin biting the tails off kittens to prevent Viking and Celtic raiders from stealing them as good luck charms.

The truth is that the genetic mutation that causes Manx and Cymric cats to be tailless has been cemented into their DNA over the course of centuries. After all, both breeds originated on the Isle of Man and have been there for hundreds of years.

As they were so unusual, tailless cats were shown at the earliest cat shows, which began in the 1800s. The short-haired Manx cat was popularized first, but it wasn't long until people developed a fondness for the long-haired variety as well. Since many of these tailless long- haired cats came from Wales, they were nicknamed after their origin: Cymric translates to English as "having to do with Wales."

The Cat Fancier's Association stands out from other registries, classifying the Cymric cat as a long-haired Manx variety.

The Canadian Cat Association and The International Cat Association recognize the Cymric as a separate breed with its own standard for show.

Cymric Cat History
Did You Know?
Since all Cymric cats carry at least one gene for a tail, two Cymric parents are capable of producing kittens with tails.

Did You Know?
Cymric cats share a portion of their ancestry with Norwegian Forest cats. The long-haired gene that gives Cymric cats their silky, thick coats originates with cats that arrived on the Isle of Man with the Vikings.

About the Cymric Cat
Eyes

A Cymric cat should have large, rounded eyes that are positioned at a slight angle, with the inner corners slightly lower than the outer corners. The color of a Cymric cat's eyes should complement its coat.
Legs & Paws

The legs should be strong and sturdy with short front legs that emphasize the chest and hind legs that are much longer, with rounded, muscular size. The paws should be rounded.
Tail

Show-quality Cymric cats should be completely tailless or should have the appearance that no tail exists. If extra vertebrae exist at the end of the spine, they are permitted so long as they do not have a noticeable tail joint or detract from the rounded appearance of the cat's rump.
The Breed Standard

Body

The body should be rounded, with a broad chest and a short back that displays an arch that rises from the shoulders to the rounded rump. These cats should seem heavy for their size.
Head

The Cymric cat displays a well rounded head with prominent cheeks and jowls, well-developed muscles, a strong chin, and prominent whisker pads. Males should have more pronounced jowls than females.
Ears

The ears should be wide at the base with a gradual taper that leads to a rounded tip. They should be widely spaced, and should be positioned slightly to the outside of the head. Ear furnishings and tufts are highly desirable in Cymric cats.
Coat

The coat should be long and silky with a noticeable neck ruff and breeches, as well as longer abdominal hair. The ruff should be prominent.
Color

Cymric cats may display a wide variety of colors and patterns. A few are excluded from show including lavender, ticked tabby, chocolate, pointed, or any prohibited color or pattern mixed with white markings. Nose leather and paw pad colors should complement the coat.
Where to Find a Cymric Cat or Kitten

At Cats.com, we advocate for cat adoption versus buying from breeders. The Cymric, like other purebred cats, is seldom seen in shelters and rescues. Try out our Petfinder tool to explore cats who are either confirmed Cymric or resemble one. Remember that many shelters incorrectly label moggies — non-purebred cats — as purebreds. Take a look, and you just might fall in love with a non-purebred rescue cat in need. If you want to purchase a Cymric, consider contacting a local breeder for more information.

"Sad night last night but today is a brighter day. The ewe (female sheep) on the left lambed a stillborn and we were unable to resuscitate it. She cried most of the night longing for her lamb after we removed it.

The ewe on the right lambed twins last week, though they were very small. It seems that today she has given one of her twins to the grieving mother to raise as her own. This is a photo of them together with their new children."

I’m

When a female squirrel finds another baby squirrel, she gives him food and makes sure that he is an orphan and has no mother or father, and after 3 days of investigation and actually making sure that he is without family, she takes him gently and feeds him and makes him familiar with living with her and her young as if he was one of her children.

The female squirrel is unique in receiving her husband when he returns with food with kisses and wooing him in order to ease the fatigue of bringing food to her and her young.

The male squirrel always expresses his love for his female by giving her the most beautiful roses and the largest walnuts and almonds...

SHE IS ME😺🐾🌈🙏

🌹🌹🌹All the little cat spirits were crossing the rainbow bridge when one of them looked back and saw some cats' souls laying on the other side of the bridge, not moving.

“Who are they?” he asked the cat next to him.

“Oh, don’t you know they are the souls who had no owner in life and knew no love like we did."

“So what are they laying there for?” he asked “Why don’t they cross over like us?”

“They can’t.” replied his new friend “Only pets with owners can cross."

Just then all the souls on the other side of the bridge sat up and looked down the road.

"What’s happening?" asked the little cat. “Watch!” replied his friend.

Whereupon a woman was seen walking towards the bridge. She looked to her left and then to her right then opened her arms wide and all the patiently waiting souls got up and went to her.

She knelt and touched each and every spirit in turn.

They then all proceeded to cross the bridge together.

“Who is that?” he asked his friend.

“That is someone special.” replied his friend “She is a rescuer." 🐈🐈‍⬛🐈
