We had lots of fun making DIY Treasure Maps!

Six Huntington museums will participate in celebrations of Harry Potter’s birhday between July 28 and Aug.11.

Participating museums include the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium, Huntington Historical Society, Northport Historical Society, Walt Whitman Birthplace, The Whaling Museum & Education Center, and Vanderbilt Museum.

Each museum will feature unique events on different dates throughout the two-week period.

From HuntingtonNow.com: Supervisor Ed Smyth and local officials led a briefing Tuesday introducing increased maritime safety measures throughout the Fourth of July weekend because of increased boating traffic around the fourth of July.

The town will be implementing temporary 5 mile per hour zones from 8:30 to 11 pm on Thursday south of Eaton’s Neck Target Rock Line and inside Huntington Bay.

Huntington Officials Push Boating Safety During 4th Celebrations Maritime

After your celebrations are over, please bring your mylar & latex balloons to the library Balloon Bin to be recycled. Just look for the collection bins in the lobby of each building. Depositing balloons & strings keeps them from ending up in landfills or waterways.
