If you’re one of the 63 million households that own a dog, you know how important house hunting is for your furry family member. In metro detroit, there are a lot of restrictions that can impact dog owners. Lets chat about a few things to keep in mind when house hunting: - many neighborhoods in metro detroit do not allow fences. I can send you a list of all the areas that do allow fencing in your desired location, so we can focus on keeping your dogs contained and safe (goes for kids too, if I’m being honest 🤪) - ensure the HOA regulations both allow fences or at least allow an invisible fence. Many do not. - your dog needs exercise, and a lot of it! Check if there are any local dog parks, walking trails, open fields, and scenic areas near the home to get some off leash time (and you a pretty view) - research the cities local ordinances to see if the dog is required to have a license, be registered with the city, and if there are any breed restrictions. These are also imperative in HOA bylaws! It’s so important when representing buyers to provide them with the best experience possible for their showings. When it’s not my listing, I’m limited to how much “prep” I can do for that showing, but here are some things I try to do for every showing to make the experience positive for my buyer. - arrive ten minutes early - leave the closest parking spot available for them - unlock the door, turn on all the lights and open blinds/curtains - have a printed copy of the listing summary and disclosures and review them prior to the showing . I provide these to the buyer if they seem interested in the house. - know general ideas/ages of big ticket items throughout the house.
