Today we said a sad goodbye to our dear friend Saffron. Saffron has been a crucial part of the life enrichment team for 3 years. Her smile and joy have been constant in the lives of the residents and the families as well as the staff. She will certainly be missed. ❤️
Today was a beautiful day to grab coffees and head to the beach. The ladies didn't mind posing for these dramatic pics. It was all part of the fun.
Happy hour at Bridges in Norwalk is never dull. Great food, great drinks and great company. Join us any Friday at 3:00. Check the calendar for live entertainment.
There's nothing better than fresh garden vegetables in a nice green salad.
Music makes us happy!
Listening to music is an entirely new experience with the Eversound headphones. Silent Disco is one of our favorite activities. Even nurse Maria can get down to the Bee Gees.
It has been way too hot for us to enjoy the outdoors, but not today. It was a beautiful day to enjoy our roof deck and have a little sing-along.
Nothing soothes the soul quite like your favorite song. With the Eversound headphones even residents who are hard of hearing can enjoy a relaxing symphony. This is one of my favorite pictures. When I look at it I can feel what he's feeling!!
Our Navigator Club learned about Pop Art today. After a short demonstration, they dove into the colorful watercolors to add bright pops of color to hand-drawn pictures of various dogs. It was quite an experience.
Engaging in Normalization programming gives our residents a sense of purpose. Programs designed to mimic normal everyday activity is a great way to do that.
Some normalization programs include, grooming, making the bed, helping with laundry and preparing meals.
Working with clay is not only fun but it is a great way to stretch the hands and improve dexterity. We used colorful beads to make clay mosaics.
Colleen Hains, of Art Masters of Silvermine, colors our world with watercolors. This week she is beginning a new series. We are going from musicals and Broadway to historical buildings/sites, starting with the Eiffel Tower. She draws these pictures by hand and our residents just love adding color.
Our Friday Happy Hour is not only fun, but delicious!! Our dietary staff knows how to keep our taste buds singing along to our Karaoke. We'd love for you to join us any Friday at 3:00. Check the calendar for entertainment schedule.
We are thrilled to have been recognized as a stellar community at this year's EPOCH Senior Living Summer Gathering! It was a day full of fun, laughter, and fantastic company. Thank you, EPOCH, for this incredible honor! ☀️
I've said it before but it is worth mentioning again. We have some of the best entertainers, trainers and guests here in Norwalk. I wouldn't trade them for the world.
It was too hot to do programs outside today but we were able to get out long enough to check the garden. We found some real treasures!!
We got a little artsy today with water painting and chalk pictures.
Rockin' out with one of our favorites!! Steve always gets us up and dancing!
Strawberry Fields Forever!!
Wishing everyone a Happy Independence Day!!!

Just another way we have fun for a great cause. Today we raffled off a family pack of 4 tickets to Lake Compounce Amusement Park. The raffle was open to staff, families and visitors. All proceeds to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. The big winner??!!!

Today was a very special day at Bridges in Norwalk. Our friend Frank from the VFW came to help us dedicate our new Veteran’s wall. It was a beautiful ceremony and an amazing addition to our community. Thanks Lou Spero for all of your help.
We got a little messy today with fabric dye. Everyone loves to tie-dye but no one likes the clean-up :/
Bridges Bakers is one of my favorite programs on the calendar. We always make such delicious snacks; some healthy, some not so much. I think we all can agree that cannoli's are Yum-Yum Yummy!!
