🚨 Heat Emergency Alert: Keep Your Furry Babies Safe! 🌡️🐾

The city has declared a heat emergency from July 15 through July 17, 2024. Temperatures are expected to be in the high 90s, with a feels-like temperature of up to 100°F. Here are 3 essential tips to keep your furry friends safe during this heatwave:

1. Stay Hydrated:Ensure your pets have access to plenty of fresh, cool water at all times. Consider adding ice cubes to their water bowls to keep it cool longer.
2. Avoid Midday Walks:Limit walks to early morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler. Hot pavement can burn your pet's paws.
3. Provide Shade:If your pets are outside, make sure they have access to shaded areas to escape the direct sun. Better yet, keep them indoors with air conditioning or fans.

I had the pleasure of finally meeting Baby today. She is as sweet as she looks and is doing well I am happy that we could help even if only in a small way. We will be here for Baby if she needs anything else. We wish Baby, her brother Fluffy and her owners the best.

2. ID and Microchip: Ensure your pet's ID tags are up-to-date and consider microchipping them for added security.
3. Stay Inside: Keep your pets indoors during fireworks. Close windows and curtains to help muffle the sounds.
4. Comfort and Distract: Provide comforting items like their favorite toys or blankets. Play calming music or white noise to help drown out the fireworks.

Charley’s Angels Pet Initiative received a request to help the owner of a 9-month-old Black Mouth Cur mix named Coco.
A reminder that Charley’s Angels is not a rescue nor are we a shelter, but we do have a large network or organizations we work with when we receive calls like this.
We are posting this and the pictures with the permission of Coco’s owner.
In this case the owner of this puppy is very ill. He and his family can no longer care for Coco.
This family is heartbroken. They love Coco and she is very well cared for but they felt it best to surrender her. They have been very engaged in the process and want to make sure that Coco finds a forever and loving home.
We reached out to Briana and Henry at the Norwood Animal Shelter and they agreed to take Coco in.
This was a painful decision for the family to make. We have been in contact throughout and at their request will continue to provide them with updates. We are all heartbroken for this family and for this pup.
On Thursday June 6th, we met the owner and Coco and the shelter. Her owner brought a large container with all her toys and food and gave us a full narrative about her as well as all her medical records.
Coco is in heat right now and cannot be spayed for 3-6 weeks after which she will be spayed and available for adoption.
If you are interested in adopting Coco please call the Norwood Animal Shelter at 781-762-3159 and make an appointment to meet her. They are located at 210 Providence Turnpike Norwood, MA .
Charley’s Angels Pet Initiative is grateful to the Norwood Animal Shelter- Henry and Briana for their continued support and compassion. They are taking great care of Coco during this transition.
We will stay involved to help any way we are able.
Please help this little girl- she is sweet and needs to find a good home.

Update on Baby

We have been in contact with Baby's owner.

I am happy to report that Baby had her surgery and is doing very well.

I am so happy we were able to contribute to Baby's care and will stay in contact with her owner and help where we can

I hope to meet Baby soon when she is up for visitors.

It does take a village sometimes and I love our village. The outpouring for this beautiful little girl was amazing. Please keep her in your thoughts.
