Did someone say road trip? Back in 1908, engineer Oliver P. Fritchie drove an EV from New York to Nebraska. Yep, that 1,800-mile road trip took 20 days back then. Today, a century later, that might only take a few days, thanks to the country’s expanding charging infrastructure. And it’s only going to keep getting better from here.

An oldie but a goodie. ⚡️

Props to William E. Metzger, one of the automotive OGs who jump-started the U.S. auto game with his Waverly Electric cars. These had a range of 40 miles and a top speed of 14 mph. Which, for 1897, was a pretty big deal.

This EV pioneer quickly became a legend, organizing the first Detroit Auto Show and shaping iconic brands like Cadillac and Oldsmobile.

On February 1, 2023, ONE closed a $300 million Series B funding round led by Fifth Wall and Franklin Templeton to help us launch our first battery pack into production next month and our first LFP cell into production next year.

Today marks an important moment in ONE's history, as we hosted Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Michigan leadership for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate opening our 114,000 SF HQ in Novi.

Our new facility enhances our product development and validation capabilities by co-locating cell, battery pack, battery management, business development, and administrative functions in one place, allowing for fully vertically integrated product engineering and testing. Our new campus will develop products to be manufactured at ONE Circle, our new battery cell plant in Van Buren Township.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at ONE HQ ONE's vision is simple: Double the range of electric vehicles; use safer, more sustainable raw materials; and establish a localized supply chain.

All growth begins with a circle. We announced a $1.6 billion investment in our first battery cell plant, ONE Circle. Our new campus, located in Van Buren Township, will include raw material refinement, cathode materials production, and cell and battery manufacturing, creating over 2000 new green jobs. ONE's $1.6 billion investment in a new battery cell manufacturing plant, called ONE Circle, will achieve a 45% reduction in carbon emissions by 2028 through a circular manufacturing approach and will be located in Van Buren Township, Michigan.

The recently constructed facility is expected to create 2,112 new jobs when operating at its full annual capacity of 20 GWh by the end of 2027, equivalent to 200,000 electric vehicle battery packs annually.
