A man who was convicted just last year of killing a New Jersey woman in 1980 has been sentenced. Herman Lee Hobbs received 15 years to life in prison for the death of 21-year-old Holly Ann Campiglia, whose body was found in California.
A teacher who allegedly assaulted an 11-year-old student back in April is now facing charges. 32-year-old Jaron Spicer was working at Mt. Carmel Guild Academy in West Orange at the time of the incident.

A man who admitted to killing his wife was just sentenced to 15 years in state prison. 79-year-old Alexander Jacobs, of East Hanover, shot his wife in the head, at their home in March of 2020. Jacobs worked as a physicist at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark.

Authorities say a victim was pistol whipped and robbed in Newark. It happened on the 40-block of Napoleon Street. The suspects exited their vehicle, struck the victim in the face and took his wallet before driving off.

An Ocean County man is suing Dunkin' Donuts for negligence. The man ordered a cup of coffee at a drive-thru back in April and claims the coffee spilled into his lap because of a loose lid. He was left with second-degree burns.
One pedestrian was killed and another was injured after they were hit by a car in Florham Park. The two were struck as they were crossing Ridgedale Avenue, while the car was turning from Brooklake Road.
A Bridgeton man was arrested for a fatal stabbing. 21-year-old Selvin Omar Garcia-Ramirez is charged with murder and a weapons offense in the death of 26-year-old Edwin Lopez-Parra, who died from his injuries on the way to the hospital.
A pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing the street in Burlington Township. 77-year-old Frank Gordon Jr., of Willingboro, was found by police lying unconscious on Sunset Road. He was pronounced dead at Capital Health Trauma Center.
Police are investigating, after officials say an elderly woman was killed at her home in Perth Amboy. 80-year-old Awilda Verrette was found unresponsive in her home on State Street.

Police arrested a suspect who was wanted for shoplifting at a Bloomfield Supermarket. 35-year-old Kevin Sales allegedly stole nearly $160 worth of food from the Aldi's on Bloomfield Avenue.
A teacher at Freehold Intermediate School was arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a student. The 43-year-old, from Jackson, is charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
A man who shot a victim 14 times during a robbery in 2020 has been sentenced to federal prison for nine years. 23-year-old Jonathan Rosales of New Brunswick committed the crime with two others, who have also pleaded guilty.
A school bus driver was sentenced 14 years in state prison this month, for driving drunk with 27 kids on board in 2022. Bodycam footage revealed the 51-year-old woman stumbling into the roadway after stepping off the bus to speak with police.
A boy was found unresponsive in a pool at Liberty Lake Day Camp in Mansfield Township. After staff tried to save him, the six-year-old was taken to Virtua Mount Holly Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A Passaic man was arrested after he sent explicit pictures to a Monmouth County detective posing as a child. 25-year-old Joseph Velazquez is charged with two counts of child endangerment.
