Each and everyone of us were born and brought into this world by a woman who chose life. A woman whose natural power nurtured and cared for us aware of our every need so that we may have the opportunity to live a full life.

There is no playbook for being a mom, and it is a constant title one holds the moment she brings life into this world. A role that a women never can retire from and a role that lasts a lifetime extending generations. Her unwavering presence characterized by patience and understanding, molds us into who we are today.

Looking for a fun and surprising way to celebrate Valentine's Day this year?

Hair Saloon President and CEO Tom Twellman Jr. celebrates Valentine’s Day every year by making his signature “Gourmet Mini Grilled Cheese Sandwiches” for his wife and kids. It’s become an annual tradition they all look forward to. We talked Tom into sharing his recipe below:

Gourmet Mini Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Ingredients

1 French baguette loaf – Cut into 1/2” rounds (recommend cutting at an angle to provide more surface area for cheese spread); spread butter or margarine on one side of each round.
Cheese spread (mix ingredients together in a plastic/metal bowl:1/2 C. of Provolone
1/2 C. of Monterey Jack
1/2 C. of Mozzarella
1/2 C. of mild Cheddar
1 C. of light Mayonnaise
3 stalks of Green Onion (minced)
1 tsp. of Black Pepper
1 1⁄2 tbsp. of Honey

Instructions:

Spread cheese mixture on non-buttered side of baguette rounds using 1/2 of the loaf.
Top with the other rounds (buttered side up).
Place Petite Cheese Sandwiches on skillet (medium heat), grill until Sandwiches are golden brown.
Serve and ENJOY!

Never Forget // Sgt. Kenneth Koeller, Jr., was a cousin of Hair Saloon's founder's wife. We honor Sgt. Koeller and many before and after him that have honorably served our communities and why we partner with organizations like The Backstoppers who step in when the worst of the worst happens. The families of this heroes sacrifice the same or as much as the officers and firefighters that are serving in the streets.

Hair Saloon is honored to be involved with this organization and serve the police and firemen in our communities who sacrifice so much in service.

Sgt. Kenneth Koeller, Jr. made the ultimate sacrifice on January 28, 1987. Today we honor Sgt. Koeller and the life he dedicated to serving and protecting.

We want to shout out our Kirkwood location for being recognized by the Kirkwood Human Rights Division for being a business that fosters a workforce of diverse-abilities!

In May 2023, Kirkwood manager Jenny was approached by a client who asked if the saloon would be open to hiring someone with a disability. Jake, the client’s son, had been a client of Jenny’s for years and she said “YES!” without hesitation. Jake joined the Hair Saloon team as a Shoe Caddy and continues to be an amazing asset to the team and to our clients in Kirkwood.

What a year it’s been! On behalf of the entire Hair Saloon team, thank you for the opportunity to serve you in 2023. As we prepare for the start of a new year, we’re renewed in our purpose and vision for Hair Saloon to be a place where Men Feel Comfortable.
