Helpful considerations when selecting the right camp:

*Traditional SMIA Soccer Camp
• Boys and Girls ages 4-14
• Located throughout Chicagoland areas, an excellent playing and teaching environment for ages 4-14. Players experience the quality introduction of skills, fun, joy, and quality coaching.

*SMIA First Touch Program
• Boys and Girls ages 3-5
• The training focuses on proper muscle memory retention emphasizing form, balance, and coordination with and without the ball.

*Traditional SMIA Soccer Camp Full Day (includes lunch)
• Boys and Girls ages 4-14

*SMIA Advanced Training Camp
• A learning environment specifically designed for competitive and academy playing levels for youth players ages 9-17. The SMIA Advanced Training Camp will allow players to adapt, build and work with the highest technical and tactical training methodology.

Our dynamic methodology, philosophy, and structure are designed to provide a foundation for perfecting pure form, precision in movement, and taking average players to develop them into higher-level playing abilities.

Through the game of soccer, our work has inspired young children to make better decisions through the mentorship and guidance we provide. Ultimately becoming a second family for many children. We believe athletic excellence can be achieved by a child’s self-esteem, community resources, and a strong educational platform.

Cabrini-Green (1987): 500 excited children showed up for their first SMIA camp. The poverty and conditions these children lived under were overwhelming. But the smiles on their faces during training sparked another level.

From this special camp, a greater vision was established. Founder Aleks Mihailovic never wanted to see a child unable to participate in any of the SMIA programs due to financial challenges. From that point, he created the second organization called the SAFE Foundation. The SAFE Foundation (Soccer Art For Education) is a not-for-profit organization established for helping underprivileged children participate in the game of soccer and promote education. Our first official SAFE program was conducted in 1988 back in Carbini-Green. The rest is history.
