The Robinson's Funny Farm
Our New Name and Logo
While the weekend has had its fair share of fireworks already, the big City fireworks event is a day away. Please do not bring your pets to Windjammer if you are planning on attending the City fireworks 🙏🏼 Every year we field calls from distraught owners who have lost their pets at events with fireworks or who leave their dogs in the yard or inside with windows open, and the pet pulls away or out of its collar or goes through the fence or a window screen and is gone. Be smart, keep your pet inside with the windows closed!
We've mentioned this several times but once more won't hurt: The next day or so of travel is going to be SUPER CHALLENGING. Friday and Saturday already are two of the busiest travel days of the year. Combine that with snow/ice already on the road and add a major storm starting tonight that will include freezing rain (see the graphic our National Weather Service friends put together), snow and high winds and it's going to be a mess state-wide starting this afternoon and lasting until Friday night before a warming trend moves in Saturday. The freezing rain and wind could also lead to downed trees and power outages.
We're not saying don't travel. We know many of you will be heading out for the holidays. Heck, I even have plans. We're saying be prepared. Know your skill and comfort level, be sure you and your vehicle are prepared for pretty harsh conditions. Take it slow, follow traction requirements, give yourself lots of extra time and be prepared for unexpected closures and delays that could last quite awhile. We want everyone to get where they're going safely and have a great holiday, but it's also really important to understand what to expect over the next day or so.
Stay safe
Wishing everyone Happy Holidays!
🔥🔥🔥 Oak Harbor is SUPER DRY right now, please be very careful with sparks ✨, smoking materials 🚭, vehicles on grass ⚡️, BBQs 🥩, and fertilizers 🍂.
There is a 50% chance of rain on Wednesday, but it will not be enough to lower the fire danger... continue to use extreme caution. ⚠️
