Join your neighbors with a fun and informative tour down Lake Street as Historical Society guides tell the stories of women in our community who broke down barriers in the fields of government and civic life, cultural affairs, and social services. You'll meet pioneers in fair housing and civil rights as well as a judge, a symphony conductor, and women on the war memorial in Scoville Park.
The tour kicks off on August 24th at 10 a.m. at the corner of Lake and Linden and will proceed west. Tickets are $10 or $8 for members. Space for this event is limited, and spots fill up fast, so reserve yours today.

During this week-long celebration, try signature caffeinated drinks from local businesses in Oak Park and collect stamps for each new drink you try.

Oak Park is celebrating Pride all summer long! All are welcome, including allies, from the Oak Park area and beyond to this family friendly event on Saturday, July 27th starting at 11:00 a.m. in Taylor Park.
This is a picnic to celebrate the joy that comes from embracing who you are. In addition to connecting with the community, there will be activities for younger children through adults from multiple organizations including the Park District of Oak Park, Oak Park Public Library and PFLAG.
Food: Freshly Grilled Hot Dogs and Ice Cream will be provided. Please bring your own drinks and snacks. Please note, there is no alcohol allowed at the park.
Downtown Oak Park & Hemingway District businesses join forces for this end-of-season sidewalk sale. Don't miss out on this fun event in downtown Oak Park. Shopping starts on July 18th at 11:00 a.m. and ends on July 21st at 5:00 p.m. Visit participating businesses on Saturday, July 20th for free beverages and to pick up a bingo card. Get a stamp at each location you visit. Complete a full row and turn it back into a participating business to be entered into a raffle to win some amazing prizes from participating businesses!
"There Goes the Neighborhood" Gangster Tour - Sunday, July 14th
Book your tickets now for a fun and informational summer activity. The tour will go through Oak Park and River Forest, visiting 15 houses, all of which were once occupied by major mobsters. Led by mob historian John Binder, you'll learn about the criminal careers of the former homeowners, unique features of each building and rare information about the times spent inside. Don't miss out on this summertime fun!
Wonder Works Children’s Museum is hosting its third annual outdoor festival in celebration of the magic and science of bubbles right here in Oak Park. For two days, children and their families can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities involving bubbles in all shapes and sizes. Come out and join the fun July 13th and 14th.
