We got some important updates about everything that was accomplished in Springfield during the latest legislative session and had a lively question and answer portion of our meeting as well. The 50th A Day In Our Village in Oak Park’s Scoville Park did not disappoint! We loved seeing everyone who stopped by our tent yesterday! What a beautiful day!

We were able to get in a little time this weekend at the Oak Park Farmers' Market before the rain! We have wonderful volunteers who staff the table. Stop by and say hi! You can learn about ways that you can volunteer too!

Thank you to Eileen O'Neill Burke who was our guest speaker last weekend for our monthly Second Saturday meeting. We loved seeing everyone who was there and hope to see you at our next one on June 8th!

Please join us this Saturday for our monthly meeting. We are welcoming Eileen O'Neill Burke, candidate for Cook County State's Attorney, as our guest speaker. Doors will open at 9:30am for coffee and conversation. If you are interested in writing postcards to voters in tight races, you can also pick up your postcards at the meeting!

Thank you to everyone who joined our Second Saturday meeting today including Representative Camille Lilly, Supreme Court Justice Joy Cunningham, and our guest speaker Sharon Waller. We enjoyed a lively discussion, and now we will look to the General Election in November! We hope to see you at the next meeting on May 11th!

My heart goes out to the people of Maywood and the family of my dear friend, Karen Yarbrough. For decades, Proviso Township could always count on the fact they had a champion fighting on their behalf in state and local government.

I first met Karen nearly three decades ago and have admired her ever since. She had an infectious enthusiasm for people and her mere presence brought ease, comfort, stability, and warmth to every room and any situation.

Her long tenure in public life and multiple leadership positions in the Democratic Party were no accident. They were the product of hard work, dedication, and a deep affinity for the wellbeing of others.

My thoughts and prayers are with Henderson, her family, and all of us reeling from losing one of our dear friends and most steadfast partners in the pursuit of a better community. -Don Harmon, Committeeman
