Gratitude is where it's at. Who wants to up their game??
I'm super excited, borderline giddy. Here's a great chance for us all to fill up. Increasingly, I'm realizing, no matter the question, CONNECTION is the answer. Feb 11 is the day! https://ahimsayogastudios.com/oak-park-schedule
It’s with so many big feelings, that I complete my Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy training. It's been astounding to see the healing that can happen with this method that holds others with such beautiful loving presence. Such a bittersweet day to end my time with this cohort and teachers that feel more like FAMILY and HOME than anything close to school. I can’t wait to start to bring this beautiful modality to clients. (But first additional training and practice hours!!!) https://www.goodtherapy.org/learn-about-therapy/types/hakomi
I'm so grateful for yogi, Kevin Leep, for turning me onto this Forgiveness Meditation of Jack Kornfield's. What a simple and gentle practice to wash away bitterness. The whole talk is beautiful, and the Forgiveness in 3 Directions Practice starts around 38 minutes in. It makes my heart feel so good, I'm going to try his suggestion of twice a day. ❤️❤️❤️https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/heart-wisdom-with-jack-kornfield/id923017416?i=1000542542470

It is with much joy I share that we start YOGA OUTDOORS this Sunday!! So for all your mom’s and nurturers of life, what a treat we can offer ourselves beginning on Mother’s Day. Outdoor yoga has been a saving grace for many of us through the pandemic, and like others, I’ve fallen in love with practicing with the grassy earth beneath our feet. I’m thrilled the park district is bringing back our magic spot at Taylor Park.
Sunday Morning Yoga, Taylor Park 10-11am - Vinyasa and Breathwork – We’ll likely be on the northeast side of the park, though if it’s too wet, we might need to be on higher ground on the northwest side. Bring your mat and props if you have them, and layers too. For inclement weather we’ll be at Ridgeland Commons. If you’re new to the park district, it’s the best fitness bargain in town and has a great community vibe. Check out their schedule and register here for single classes or packages. https://www.pdop.org/programs/health-fitness/

I’ve been sparked up by a practice that is lighting my heart up (literally!) I’m so excited about it, I thought I’d throw together a circle tomorrow (New Years Day). We’ll bring love into our hearts and spread it out as a blessing. It will be a beautiful way to set space for the upcoming year! I know it’s last minute, but I hope you can join on this auspicious day! Feel free to invite family members or others you think would appreciate.

This week we’ll be tuning into one of the most sweet energies of the heart…gratitude. It’s surprising how healing gratitude can be, yet it’s so easy to lose sight of amidst all the bustle.
Tomorrow's (Sunday) class we’ll hone in with a Kriya for Gratitude that works in a specific way to activate the heart and lungs and the frequency of gratitude. (See details below.) We’ll also be working with Gratitude in Monday’s Stress and Anxiety class and throughout the month in virtual Midday Meditation. If you have family visiting, feel free to bring them along for a sweet shared experience.

Join in a sweet, heart-centered ceremony to celebrate summer and find JOY. We’ll set intention, open our hearts, get playful and dance! You’re invited to deepen your experience with the plant medicine, Cacao.
Known as “The Food of the Gods,” Cacao, has been used in spiritual and medicinal ceremonies dating back thousands of years and has roots in Mayan and Aztec traditions in Central and South America. It’s thought to bridge the gap between the Heart and the Spirit, and is a tool to build connection, self-love and healing. Cacao is a vasodilator, which helps your blood vessels and muscular systems relax. Increasingly used in yoga ceremonies and with mediation in the US, it’s safe and legal. Feel free to check out a bit of its rich cultural history here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mr1_8ndB0I&t=599s
It’s suggested to eat lightly that day. And fast after 3pm. Avoid caffeine if you can. Feel free to come with an intention at this season of light and growth. It could be something you’d like to release and/or something you’d like to bring in.

After a long year with plenty of darkness, I’m really personally looking forward to sharing in this celebration of light with levity and community!
Mark your calendars for Spring Equinox (Virtual) Gathering - Saturday, March 20, 7:30-8:30pm. It’s our first time celebrating in the evening (my weekend training makes it tricky this time). Please sign up ahead… https://signup.com/go/AjAdDgf
Spring Equinox is a wonderful time to reflect and set intentions as we move into the light. This time is perfect to move beneath the disturbances to connect to our deeper selves. We’ll look at what old patterns and habits we want to shed and plant the seeds we want to grow. In fact, if you have actual seeds, we’ll plant those as part of the ceremony. Pick a spot that’s quiet where you have a little space to move for the zoom call. Kids are welcome. We’ll do a little movement and breath work to ground us. Then do some introspective work. Here are a few things to gather if you’re able… A yoga mat or blanket A journal A small pot, mug or cup with dirt. Seeds if you’ve got them. A small cup of water. If you don’t have seeds, I can plant them virtually for you. We’ll start promptly at 7:30.
Reminder to wake up and feel good! Tomorrow Morning we're bringing the love...
