yoga and mindfulness studio rooted in a commitment to community
Marissa Grott, Founder & Owner
Join me (Marissa) on Election Day for a Flo to the Beat class built around JOY & HOPE because we all need it, & we all need community.
Just a reminder - we are here for you for whatever you are feeling leading up to Tuesday & whatever you need to get there.
Registration required. Sign up on our website. Questions/problems signing up, send us a message on social or email us.
As a studio community, we wrote, addressed, stamped & mailed over 2,000 postcards to voters in swing states reminding them to GET OUT & VOTE.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record (in more ways than one!), our &ttww community is different in so many beautiful ways. We know, as a studio family, how important this election is, all that is at stake & how much of an impact each one of us has the power to make.
Thank you to everyone who participated, everyone who has already voted early or mailed in their ballot, everyone who has made a plan to vote & everyone who is helping their neighbors vote or make a plan to get to the polls.
This election is a big deal, friends, & I have never not used my voice & my business as a platform to stand for what is good & right. If you have questions about voting, need help voting or getting to the polls or want to talk more about what is at risk here, I am here for you & so is our community.
Let’s fu***ng go, people!🔥

Join me at the Forest Park Public Library this Friday, September 27 for a library after hours sound bath!
I lived in Forest Park for over 10 years (& David grew up there!), & frequented the library. We bought a house in Elmwood Park a couple years ago, & while we regularly go to the EPPL, Ophelia & I visit the FPPL every single week. She gets off the elevator running, everyone knows her name, & we take out five books every week. We have a special library bag we carry & a designated bin at home for our library books.
I share all this because public libraries are special, friends. We have to keep showing up for them, continue supporting them, & join in on incredible community collaborations like this one between my beloved studio & our library.
I hope to see you there!

Our beloved studio home was broken into very early this morning around 3am. We will resume classes on Saturday (with a boarded up door) and continue doing our thing.
The incident was isolated and not targeted. The individual is in custody and will be offered mental health services.
Thank you to the Oak Park and Forest Park Police Departments for helping me so much this morning.
Cheers to SimpliSafe Home Security for alerting all the people - including my Dave (when I didn’t wake up!) home with our sleeping girl.
And as always, to my parents for waking up at 3am to be there for me—and for my dad for sitting with me for hours waiting for board up.
Stay safe, family.

THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support & then there was well Sunday evening (& to those who made a contribution to the studio from afar). I am so grateful for this amazing community we have built. A special thank you to our family at Empowering Gardens, Inc. for sharing their beautiful space with us.
After much encouragement, I decided to hold this fundraiser so we could continue doing what we do best - offer affordable & accessible yoga & continue to grow a loving & supportive community. You all shared so many stories about what this community, our community, means to you, & my heart melted a little more with each share. To know what this studio has given to you all is a gift beyond measure. Community & yoga should not be held back from people because of money. This is one of the most important reasons I opened our doors. Yoga should be affordable. Here, at & then there was well, it is. You are welcome here - all of you - always.
If you did not get a chance to contribute & want to support the studio, you can Venmo or Zelle your gift. If you are looking for other ways to make a contribution, please reach out via DM here.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Join us this Sunday in support of And then there was well, an incredible studio created to build community and keep yoga accessible and affordable to all. We can’t wait to see you there!
PS. We hear there will be some awesome raffle packages (one from us included!).
It’s always better when we’re together.
Friends & family-
Yoga should not cost an arm & a leg (thanks for that one, Natalie!). Yoga should be affordable & accessible & taught by well trained teachers. Yoga should offer ample space for growth, community, & peace. Yoga should feel safe.
My lists of what yoga “should be” & “should do” could go on forever. That’s why I opened & then there was well. I want to offer all of this & more to each of you.
Yoga is more than sweating your ass off & a big chunk of your paycheck.
I’ve never had a fundraiser for the studio before. But this community has encouraged me to do just that so we can continue doing what we do best - offering a third place to so many humans.
If you can join us on May 19, please do. There will be raffles, drinks, & lite bites, but most of all there will be another opportunity to see our community in action. We do “coming together” really beautifully.
