The Town of Islip has been a beacon during these dark economic times, thanks in large part to the leadership of the Nolan Reform Team.
Since being elected in 2007, Phil Nolan has restored integrity and accountability to our Town government. He and his team have:
- Reduced the Town fleet by 175 vehicles, slashing waste and saving thousands of taxpayer dollars
- Held the line on taxes: The Town of Islip has the lowest taxes of the western Suffolk towns

The Nolan Reform Team won the EPA's Environmental Quality Award for the first-in-the-state residential curbside pickup of e-waste, Green Home program and conversion of streetlights to energy saving induction technology.
The Nolan Reform Team consolidated four departments (Code Enforcement, Fire Marshall, Public Safety and the Harbor Police) under one commissioner. Since then, more tickets have been issued than ever before, and there has been an increase in the crackdown of illegal multiple dwellings.
The Nolan Reform Team added days for unlimited yard waste pickup after Hurricane Irene, speeding the town's clean pickup.

Gene Parrington sponsored legislation that renewed an agreement between the Town of Islip and Suffolk County regarding Suffolk Work Employment Program (SWEP). SWEP gives employment services, such as cleaning Town parks and facilities, to those who receive public assistance, or food stamps.
Supervisor Nolan is working to protect Islip seniors' quality of life and making sure they get the tax relief they deserve, including improving transportation, recreation and nutrition programs for seniors.
