UMA Gallery announces the opening of
REMEMBERWISE Forwardthought
Dystopian sculptures from another world

RETECH is the mastermind project developed by the artist Asher.
Riddled by reoccurring nightmares since an early age, Asher has realized his dystopian futuristic world through his haunting futuristic sculptures on display at UMA Gallery now through January 6th.

The setting for RETECH is 2071. In the not to distant future, all forms of art are considered Thoughtcrimes. With the use of upcycled materials and ansibles Asher deftly creates a world utilizing Orwellian themes incorporating "thoughtspeak" messages digitally displayed throughout the exhibit. In ReTech's world, all forms of art are "Thoughtcrimes"and are to be reported. Stepping into the room, strange mechanical sounds intertwine with distant voices conversing in various languages, creating an eerie auditory landscape. The air is thick with an otherworldly energy and aromas that sparks curiosity and unease in equal measure. As you navigate through the exhibit, you encounter peculiar installations where tubes dangle from a haunting fusion of human and machine heads. These are the OMEGA "units", created for one purpose: to move human consciousness to a hybrid mind blurring the boundaries between organic and mechanical, It's a visual journey that challenges perceptions, inviting contemplation on the evolving relationship between humanity and technology.

Stepping further into this dystopian narrative, one comes upon Syncaster units designed with the intent to induce cognitive disruption while some units specialize in pure memory storage. These enigmatic devices, half-biological and half-mechanical, stand as eerie embodiments of the blurred lines between humanity and technology in the year 2071.

Enhancing the exhibition is a companion booklet of field notes, offering a guide to navigate ReTech's narration of a chilling tale rooted in the nightmares that have haunted Asher since the tender age of two.

Join us in confronting the implications of a world where creativity is deemed a Thoughtcrime and witness the fusion of human and machine in a riveting tale. Your presence adds to the dialogue, making the experience complete. Don't miss the chance to be a part of ReTech – a profound exploration of a future on the brink.

Be a doubleplus good citizen and visit the gallery.

Coach Donna here. It’s been a while. Our world is heating up in more ways than one. Are you taking time to pause and look up?

In some circles this Saturday’s solar eclipse can leave you feeling a little ungrounded.
Whether or not you run in those circles or not, paying closer attention to your personal self care, mental health, well being will go a long way.
Give yourself a break. Take a moment, take a lot of moments this weekend to get away from the grind and focus on you.
