Here's a little quick exercise for you to do today.
Grab your pen and journal.
What did you do in Q1 that moved you closer towards your goals?
What did you do that moved you away from your goals?
What habits, actions and thoughts, if you kept doing and thinking them, would move you forward?
What of those would move you backwards?
These questions are examples of reflections - the process of looking backwards so you can more properly move forwards.
You have access to this incredible tool at all times.
Two people can go through the exact same experiences and have totally different results.
The way to get the most out of every experience, every failure, every mistake, every challenge, is by REFLECTING on it.
If you've already done your ASR/reflections, good. Then think about this.
What MUST you do in Q2?
"Must" tends to intimidate, but there comes a point in the journey when enough is enough; you have to establish non-negotiables in your life and trading.
How will you use the next 90 days while not letting those 90 days use you?

The reason why so many traders, regardless of strategy, find themselves not breaking through.⁠
Once real money is involved, average emotional attachment increases significantly.⁠
So many traders on their journey fall into the trap of going into their broker and counting the dollars fluctuate as their trades work for and against them.⁠
Even worse, countless traders leave tons of profit on the table because they close their trades when they see them reach a certain dollar amount that means something to them (one typical workday’s worth, for example).⁠
This might work towards the beginning of one’s journey on a smaller account, but chasing your P&L is simply not healthy, sustainable or scalable.⁠
How will you deal with pullbacks and swings on a 50K, 100K, or 1M account?⁠

Think about it.

Hidden deep in those first intentional thoughts, feelings and actions is your truest self, and in trading terms, is your consistency.

It might sound harsh, but many of the people who are entering are probably so fixated on simply winning the giveaway that they haven’t thought of how they can use that money to actually move them towards the place they want to be on their journey.
Similarly, so many people want “consistency” in trading but have no idea what that ACTUALLY looks like, nor how it helps them towards the place they want to be in life.
But then so many people don’t even have the place they want to be in life defined.
So what you have is a ton of people striving for consistency so they can be financially free without really knowing why.
Those people who try to treat trading simply as a bridge to walk across to another side of life are almost always sorely mistaken, and they pay the price for it.
If you charter a boat and don’t tell it where to go, the odds of it landing where you want to be are slim to none.
If you set your compass and plan the trajectory of the boat, you have incredibly better odds of getting to where you want to go.
Ask yourself today - Why are you in trading?
If it’s for financial freedom, why?
Is it for comfort, an end to a degree of suffering in your life and the lives of those around you?
That can be step 1, but once that’s done, why continue?
You must have this answer. There is no choice. This is not a voluntary question.
If you want to take advantage and live the fullest life that is laid out for you, you have to create your map.
If you don’t, and I mean this in a loving way, but why are you here?
We truly want you to win. We have the strategy, the content and the community. But you must do your half, too.

This week’s weekly focus is an important one, so we though we would share it.
As we are aware as traders the market moves in cycles, and what is important is that we are always conscious of protecting our capital in periods where it is required to wait for further development on any given pair, and with that comes self discipline; not taking a position is a position in itself.
A vital aspect of being a trader is knowing when to enter the market, and when to wait for development, and it is this mindset that will assist in having positive returns over the longer term.
The market will always be here, and opportunities will continue to present themselves - it is up to yourself to be ready when that time comes so that you are able to capitalise.
I often mention that we should always remain teachable, and there is always opportunity to further improve ourselves as traders by digging into and analysing our previous positions, refining our trading plan and backtesting specific pairs to name just a few.
Should you find yourself in a position whereby there are few aligning to your plan currently, then use that time wisely to sharpen your skillset so that you're always improving in each and every area.

Stacking is a practice that builds momentum.
Momentum turns good into INCREDIBLE.
Momentum can condense decades of progress into a single year.
Momentum is an invaluable tool for traders.
It’s one of the reasons we talk about refining and maximizing your edge.
The most important thing is your psychology.
Technicals is also crucial.
Then comes the other stuff - Your sleep, diet, exercise, routines and habits.
All of these things can help you STACK and build unbelievable momentum.
Start thinking about the best ways to utilize your time.
Work to learn from others and condense decades into years and years into weeks.
We have so many resources nowadays. No excuses

Even though it might be tempting to try, you WILL NOT and SHOULD NOT have all of these pillars in place when you start learning how to trade!
Backtesting too early could actually work AGAINST you. Jumping into trades too quickly could communicate the WRONG lessons.
Notice how there is a foundation UNDER each of the pillars. This is your core education. This comes first, and only after your foundational cornerstone is in place can you build your pillars. Even then, you will start building certain pillars before other ones.
This is OKAY! It’s an iterative process that builds on itself and evolves over time into your four distinct pillars that work together to pave the path to consistency.
The most beautiful aspect of educational communities like Waxpro is that everyone can help each other build their foundations and pillars faster, and make them STRONGER than they could alone.
