Merry holidays! Our Yule log is officially available on hotplate (link in bio). The chocolate chiffon cake is filled with a delicious whipped cream and topped with chocolate buttercream. It’s so delicious our entire team can’t stop eating it- and for a team that consumes its fair share of pastry, that’s saying a lot! We can’t wait to share it with you. For those that wonder why we celebrate the winter season with Yule logs, they have German origins where people would hunt down the largest log they could find and burn it in their fireplace. Think a log so large it took several folks to carry home. It’s a symbol of the winter celebration and said to offer magical protection to the home and those that live there. We wish you a magical, safe and memorable holiday season this year! Please stop to smell the Yule logs! Hello, Halo Halo! 👋🏽👋🏽 Join us as we prepare these delicious buns, inspired by an iconic Filipino dessert we all know and love: Halo Halo! Its literal translation being “mix mix” in Tagalog, Halo Halo is traditionally made up of crushed ice, sweetened milk, and a bunch of tasty toppings. We’ve done our own mixing of ube, jackfruit, macapuno, mongo bean, and nata de coco to bring you this sweet, flaky pastry, topped with torched meringue and leche flan. All of our aunties have tried it and given it the seal of approval - the spices for our plant-based char siu and the sweet milk bread are everything you remember about a baked pork bun.

Over the years, we’ve had to describe the Croissubi to hundreds of curious new tasters. As a company that takes such pride in sharing the nostalgia that inspires our pastries, it’s hard to describe how much we enjoy seeing folks take a liking to something new to them. We get that not everyone grew up with spam so we take delight in all the first timers who take a chance and enjoy our take on the spam masubi. If the flavor of unagi sauce marrying seaweed and spam isn’t enough for you, the lamination of our croissant dough is *chef’s kiss*. Look at those layers!!!!! The flaky, messy, eggy deliciousness that is the Loco Moco Danish is one of the select pastries that we carry available Friday through Monday! Inspired by the Hawaiian dish, our Loco Moco sits on a flaky, buttery croissant filled with sautéed beef and an ‘au jus’ mornay then topped with a sous vide egg, gravy, fresh green onion and a Hawaiian chip togarashi. Yesterday may have been the last day for our Lunar New Year favorites but we’ll have our newest addition to the menu, our Coffee Crumb Cake and a few other favorites to start your morning off right today from 9am-1pm. Come grab a coffee cake or Loco Moco Danish with a cappuccino featuring @grandcoffee on espresso or a soothing soba cha from @bluewillowteaspot. If you haven’t already heard, we are officially expanding our hours to Monday! Beginning with this holiday weekend of Presidents’ Day, we’ll officially be open every Monday from 9am-12pm :) And though the Lunar New Year celebrations are over, we’ll still keep these Bake Sum boxes available for pre-order. In the last few weeks of receiving feedback and testing solutions, we will continue this week with one line as we discuss whether or not we, as a team, feel emotionally and physically safe enough to resume guest entrance to the pastry shop for multiple lines. Despite the mental and emotional strain venturing as a business amidst pandemic, atop physical worry of safety, we have remained resilient and we owe that to the unending support of our community. The level of compassion and respect that it takes you all to bear with us during these times is invaluable. If you cannot wait in line at present, we understand and apologize for the inconvenience. We hope we can resume our previous operation to share a menu full of joy and nostalgia as conveniently to you all as soon as possible.

For the safety of our staff, we are not currently letting guests into the shop. It’s a new year and while we’re prioritizing our safety and health, we’re determined to keep creating and fostering joy even if it’s just through a pastry display in a window for now. We’re also happy to announce that we will officially be open from 9am-1pm Friday through Sunday so you can come enjoy your first sip and a croissubi with us!
