The Cocktail P Serving the diverse needs of our community.
For over 100 years, it’s been our goal to offer the very best products we can find. Along the way, we created the tastiest takeout bar on the Avenue, expanded our international aisle to accommodate the varied tastes of our community, and ushered in the Bay Area’s obsession with fresh, seasonal, local food. We are part gourmet grocery store—we carry things like truffle paste, fleur de sel, and Umam
The Sazerac, the classic cocktail from "The Big Easy", is a great drink to serve while relaxing in the evening. The absinthe rinse and lemon garnish come together with the Peychaud’s bitters and rye for a long, chocolatey finish.

There ain’t nothin’ better than fresh guacamole with fresh chips. Mine is SO easy to make. Just make sure the avocados are super ripe…but not brown.

Tomatillo Enchiladas Recipe
Enchiladas are a no-brainer meal usually made with whatever is on hand. This means they are not the same every time. Sometimes the enchiladas are rojo and sometimes verde, but they are always exactly what the doctor ordered.
This is a favorite recipe from Rick Bayless. Making the sauce yourself means eating a few minutes later and it’s worth it.
You can find the recipe for Tomatillo Enchiladas on our blog, the Kitchen Table… https://piedmontgrocery.com/tomatillo-enchiladas/
Fresh Elote Salad Recipe
This recipe takes a favorite street food and reworks it into a much easier-to-eat form and with enough cheese and other goodness to make the challenge of cleaning out your braces worth it.
This delicious side can also be served as a dip with tortilla chips.
You can find the recipe on our blog, The Kitchen Table… https://piedmontgrocery.com/fresh-elote-salad/
Focaccia-Style Sheet Pan Pizza recipe
While this recipe does qualify as pizza, it is not your typical neighborhood delivery-type pie. It’s actually got a crust more like focaccia.
The dough for this crust is pretty wet, so the trick to making this sheet pan pizza is to not use fresh mozzarella and to top it with ingredients that do not have a lot of moisture to keep the top from getting too soggy.

Pork Adobado Tacos anyone?

Affogato recipe
If you are looking for an easy but delicious dessert, Affogato is perfect for a simple-to-prepare sweet treat.
If you’ve never heard of it, Affogato is basically vanilla gelato with a shot of espresso poured over it. It’s absolutely simple and incredibly tasty. It’s even better if you use a vanilla chocolate chip gelato and then sprinkle more chocolate chips on top…yum!
Of course, you can use whatever gelato you want—coconut would be really good. Or maybe something boozy…Bailey’s anyone?

Coffee BBQ Rub Recipe
This rub recipe is adapted from the Lee Brothers who authored a favorite Southern cooking book.
We added some garlic powder to the mix ‘cause it’s how we roll but feel free to leave it out. You could also play with the chili powder a bit and add some cayenne for heat or chipotle for the smokey flavor.

Amy's Beat Bobby Flay Chicken Parm recipe
If you are a fan of crispy fried chicken in all forms, this particular version is a favorite because it adds melted mozzarella on top. What’s not to love?
Bobby adds ground toasted fennel to the flour dredge for the chicken—because it was how his mother would make it. However, finding a published recipe that includes the fennel is difficult. So, here it is!

This week's cocktail recipe is for a Rusty Nail Frose.
The Rusty Nail is a classic winter beverage. And, the Rusty Nail Frose is a summer spin on this familiar theme. As with many traditional cocktails, recipes for The Rusty Nail vary. Our favorite is two parts scotch to one part Drambuie. And, this is the ratio we use for our frose version.

This week's recipe is for Strawberry Milkshakes!
During the summer when the berries are at their peak, there is nothing that compares to a fresh strawberry milkshake. I’m not talking about those neon pink strawberry-flavored milkshakes you get in the drive-thru. No way. I’m talking about the real deal—good quality strawberry ice cream with pieces of actual strawberry—the kind of milkshakes that are so thick your spoon can stand up in them. Bonus points if you get strawberry seeds in your teeth. That, my friend, is summer in a tall glass with whipped cream.
