For all potential HBCU book award recipients:

The entire Grambling State University family would like to wish GSU linebacker, JaQuavis Richmond, a Happy 20th Birthday.

Grambling State University Athletics, along with the Grambling University Foundation, have launched the JaQuavis “JQ” Richmond fund in an effort to provide financial assistance to Richmond's family to cover medical expenses. Richmond suffered a severe spinal injury on September 9, 2023, during the GSU-LSU football game in Baton Rouge, La, and recently underwent surgery. He is in good spirits and will remain in the care of the doctors at the NeuroMed Center in Baton Rouge, until further notice. Grambling State University is extremely thankful for the continuous prayers and well wishes that Richmond has received from many people nationwide.
