Humans age dramatically at two key points in their life, study finds Scientists have found that human beings age at a molecular level in two accelerated bursts.
Pendulums in training are a great way to figuring out to timing, range, and how and when you need to move your feet/body to land the strike/slash/stab you want to make.
Examples of pendulum in training:
Speed bag
Heavy bag
Thai bag
Double end bag/wobbly bag
When dealing with musculoskeletal pain, your medical doctor is mostly likely going to be the the practitioner that can help you the least.
DM me if you want to live pain-free♥️👊🏾
Many people I know are resigned to live in pain.” Kewesi, I’m just getting older. As you age things are just gonna hurt, this is just the way that it is you’re gonna be in pain as you get older.”
Often times I hear this from people who are not suffering from acute injuries, autoimmune immune diseases like MS.
I hear this from relatively healthy people, who are suffering from chronic muscular skeletal issues, and they aren’t doing anything actively on their part to make themselves feel better.
Do not resign yourself to live in pain, you don’t have to live in pain. There is an answer ,that answer is mobility work.
If you are not resigned to live in pain, and would like to live pain-free and move freely, then DM me and let’s set up a back to basics mobility session.
To be a martial artist is to be corrected, criticized, and critiqued constantly.
This is why it’s important to work with instructors, mentors,& teachers Without whom, you are just bulls**tting yourself.
Training martial arts without having an instructor, without having somebody going over and critiquing, your work is about as full of s**t as one can be.
I'm an instructor for over 30 years and I’m still consistently taking knee, and receiving instruction from others.
Who are your active coaches and mentors? Do you have any?
At one time Tony Atlas was one of the top pro wrestlers in the world, he made a lot of money, but after the divorce from his wife, paying back taxes to the IRS, and having a so-called friend steal his money, he was left penniless and without a home.
He eventually went to work for Mario Savioldi's ICW/IWCCW wrestling promotion in the New England territory where he was earning decent money, but that promotion eventually folded, and Atlas was once again without money and homeless, sleeping under park benches and going days without eating.
One day a lady saw Atlas sleeping under a park bench in freezing temperatures, she offered him help, which he initially refused, but after realizing that he would likely freeze to death, he finally relented and accepted her help.
She took him to her home where he got a haircut and showered, and after a few weeks, he started going back to the gym to work out and get back in shape, a police officer took notice of him and approached him, initially Atlas thought he may be getting arrested for something he did while homeless, but it turns out the police officer had recognized him from his pro wrestling days, and the cop suggested he should call Vince McMahon, which he did and he was offered a job with the WWF/WWE as Saba Simba, and with Atlas making a good living again, he started sending $500 a week to the lady that helped him when he was homeless.
After Atlas run with the WWF/WWE was over, he returned to the lady's home and she gave him all the money he had been sending her, she told him that she had been saving it for him, and encouraged him to use that money to get certified as a personal trainer, so that if and when his pro wrestling career was over, he'd have something to fall back on, he took her advice and became a certified personal trainer, and had a short stint with WCW, another brief return to the WWF/WWE, and a few independent promotions.
As for the woman who helped Tony Atlas when he was at his low point in life, well her name is Monika, and she is now Tony Atlas wife.

Oakland, we are losing a true Jem of a human . There are very few people who are as grassroots, as community connected, as cool and awesome, as Kristi Holohan. Educator, entrepreneur, artist , leader Kristi was one of the founders of Rock,Paper,Scissors (art collective) back when sweet “Jade” ran Mamma buzz for those that know…Kristi was one of the pioneers of the Oakland art walk….remember that? That was her engine….
I’m super stoked for her that she’s going on to Greener pastures, pun intended, living her dream job.
Unfortunately, she’s leaving Oakland, and we of Oakland are losing a little bit of our heart.
K-Hole, has done 3 murals on my buildings, and she was wonderful enough to come touch up my “Bluebelle”mural before she leaves Oakland for good.
Thank you Kristi for the love, true mentorship, selflessness, and beauty you brought to the people who need it most in Oakland. Oakland was lucky to have you
❤️👊🏾
Thank you Mike & Sandy Opsomer
