Drug Take Back! The City of Oakwood's Police Department along with Flowery Branch Police Department and Hall County Sheriff's Office will be in Kohl's parking lot @ Stonebridge Village off Spout Springs Rd. on April 14th from 9am until 12pm to collect unwanted/old medication and for free document shredding.

Notice of Public Hearing for Oakwood Comprehensive Plan
The City of Oakwood invites all interested persons to attend a public hearing concerning the development of the Oakwood Comprehensive Plan. The Plan is required to comply with the Georgia Planning Act of 1989. The hearing is intended to inform the public about the purpose of the Plan and the planning process, to discuss the Plan development schedule, and provide an explanation of the public participation process to be followed by City during the preparation of the Plan. Opportunity will also be provided for interested citizens to have input on local needs and issues. The public hearing will be held in the Oakwood City Hall on February 20, 2017 at 5:30 p.m

Hall County Government invites residents to enjoy live music, spectacular fireworks and more on July 2 at Laurel Park, benefiting the American Legion Paul E. Bolding Post 7.
Laurel Park is located at 3100 Old Cleveland Hwy, Gainesville. Gates will open at 10 a.m. for visitors to enjoy the sports facilities, playground, splash pad, dog park and views of Lake Lanier. Live music will be provided throughout the afternoon, featuring performances by local artists Jonathan Jackson and The Wheelcats. A spectacular fireworks display, provided by Hall County Government, begins at dusk. Parking is $10 per car. Vendors include Kona Ice, Snowie, Brusters, Sweet Butts BBQ, Bucket O'Shrimp, North Georgia Boy Scouts and The Peanut Guy. Other activities include bounce houses, airbrush tattoos and crazy hair.
Boat ramps at Laurel Park will be closed July 2 to make more room for event parking, but boaters are invited to launch at Clarks Bridge Park or Little River Park boat ramps nearby and watch the fireworks from the water.
The City of Oakwood Administrative Offices will be closed Monday, July 4th in observance of Independence day. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, July 5th 8:00am-4:00pm.
