I have had Excruciating back pain for months. I had several dr appts and was prescribe various pain relievers and muscle relaxers. The pain keep getting worse so I decided to book a massage. Joanne was very knowledgeable and immediately identified my problem as my left hamstring. After just one session with Joanne yesterday I am pain free today. Would highly recommend Be Well and Joanne.

A NATURAL SULFUR FOR JOINT PAIN AND MUSCLE SORENESS

Pre-workout or post-workout, joint pain or muscle soreness, swelling and inflammation, fitness stressors are distractions for athletes that interrupt busy daily routines. MSM is a natural sulfur remedy for all the above. Methylsulfonylmethane supports connective tissues, joints, ligaments, and tendons. MSM promotes blood flow to muscles that assists in the healing process and reduces painful muscle spasms. MSM also maximizes the benefits of exercise and fitness through inflammation relief and muscle recovery, sulfur playing a role in both collagen and keratin.

MSM MUSCULOSKELETAL BENEFITS

Joint, Tendon, and Ligament Mobility and Elasticity
Inflammation Reduction and Muscle Recovery
Promotes Blood Flow to Muscles Stimulating Growth and Repair
Reduces Painful Muscle Spasms and Contractions
In the same category, we are often asked about Glucosamine and Chondroitin. When compared to MSM, these molecules are much larger and more complex. MSM is a small, simple molecule that is essentially carbon-based organic sulfur, while Glucosamine and Chondroitin are both components of normal cartilage. Glucosamine is a substance found naturally in the fluid that surrounds your joints; Chondroitin is found in the cartilage around your joints. Both substances play a role in keeping your joints cushioned and lubricated. MSM is a sulfur compound that also provides additional inflammation reducing benefits.

The synergistic action of MSM with Glucosamine and Chondroitin has been demonstrated in human clinical trials. MSM may help mitigate inflammation and enhance cell permeability, allowing the body to make better use of these two important joint supporting compounds. Enviromedica® offers a Cartilage Collagen supplement that is also an excellent addition to any athletes regimen.

THE PREMIER MSM SUPPLIER GLOBALLY

All Ancient Minerals® Ultra products use MSM supplied by Bergstrom Nutrition. They are recognized as the highest quality MSM producer globally, and OptiMSM® is the purest and only GRAS-designated MSM produced in the United States.

OptiMSM® also bears the Informed-Choice designation. Informed-Choice is a global quality assurance program for sports nutrition product suppliers and manufacturers. The program certifies that every batch of a supplement product or raw material that bears the Informed-Choice logo have been tested for banned substances by LGC’s sports anti-doping laboratory.

Additional information about MSM can be found in the article: What is MSM? Ancient Minerals® offers a full line of transdermal magnesium products with MSM including Magnesium Flakes Ultra, Magnesium Oil Ultra, Magnesium Lotion Ultra, Magnesium Gel Ultra, and Magnesium Lotion Goodnight with melatonin.

Preventative Injury & Rehabilitation
Sports massage is a stretch therapy and movement-based massage used before, during, and after athletic events to increase flexibility, reduce pain, and prevent athletic injuries such as; Plantar Fasciitis, Ilio-tibial Band Syndrome, Rotator Cuff, Piriformis Syndrome, Hamstring and Calf Injuries, Hand, Wrist, and Elbow Injuries, Golfers/Tennis elbow.

When an athlete sustains an injury, skillful rehabilitation massage therapy can often speed and improve the quality of healing.

The body uses compensation patterns to perform motions when strength and mobility are not sufficient. Muscle imbalances can form when a muscle or group of muscles are unable to properly move a joint through a range of motion, other muscles in the body will take over for that inhibited muscle to try and bring the body back into balance.

Pre-Event Sports Massage
Pre-Event Sports massage is great when used in preparation for events and competitions. It helps get the athlete in a good mental state for competition and prepares them to reach their athletic performance potential.

Pre-Event Sports Massage reduces the risk of future injury and accelerates the body’s healing process during recovery time for tired and fatigued muscles. Massage increases healthy muscle tone & flexibility for stamina and sports performance.

Pre-Event Sports Massage increases circulation which helps flush out toxins and lactic acid built up during exercise, this helps reduce pain and discomfort while training.

Avoid discomfort of experiencing Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) with Be Wells Certified Sports Massage Therapists use different techniques including PNF stretching, deep tissue, Swedish, myofascial release, hot and cold therapy and cupping
depending on the athlete’s individual needs at the time of treatment.

Post-Event Sports Massage
Post-event sports massage is given after a competition and can also be delivered on site, through the clothes.

Post-event massage is mainly focused on recovery. It is geared toward reducing muscle spasms and metabolic waste build-up that occurs with vigorous exercise.

Recovery after competition involves not only tissue repair, but also general relaxation, calming the nervous system and beginning the process of flushing toxins and waste products out of the body.

Post-event massage can reduce recovery time, enabling an athlete to resume training much sooner than rest alone would allow. A recovery session can range from 15 minutes to 1.5 hours in length and
should be done as soon as possible after the event.

Many athletes use this type of massage on a regular basis to help recover from their intense training schedules and optimize their performance.

HOMEMADE BATH SALTS

MSM powder is used for making homemade bath salts! It's combined with Dead Sea salts, regular sea salts, Epsom salts, baking soda, cornstarch and goat milk powder. An essential oil adds fragrance.

These homemade bath salts allow water and nutrients to flow freely into cells, while allowing waste and toxins to flow out! Soaking in a tub of salty water, with MSM powder, enables the process of osmosis to facilitate an exchange of toxins from inside the body for minerals dissolved in water. Cleanse, exfoliate, soothe, detoxify!

Find a list of ingredients, below, used to make homemade bath salts and benefits each ingredient offers the body and skin.

HOMEMADE BATH SALTS INGREDIENTS:

-- MSM is a powerful, non-toxic, detoxifier!

-- Dead Sea salts and regular sea salts have, at least, some amount of every mineral on Earth! Cleopatra bathed in the Dead Sea. This may explain her beauty secrets!

-- Goat milk contains natural vitamins A, B, C, D, E and K! It softens and nourishes skin.

-- Epsom salts help soothe sore muscles. It relieves aches and pains.

-- Cornstarch helps absorb excess moisture in skin. It can provide temporary relief from chicken pox to poison ivy. For mild irritations, it's a good alternative to talcum powder.

-- Baking soda has a fine gritty texture. It's a gentle exfoliant. It helps even skin tone and prevent build-up from clogged pores causing acne.

-- Drops of soothing essential oil. It's important to understand all about essential oils before using. There are safety pre-cautions to consider. Distinguish the difference between essential oils labeled “natural” vs. “fragrance”. Take time and be sure to read my best essential oils page.

HOMEMADE BATH SALTS RECIPE: (with MSM Benefits)
(Makes 12 - 13 cups)

1 - 2 cups -- MSM Powder
1 cup -- Sea Salts or Dead Sea Salts
4 cups -- Goat Milk Powder
2 cups -- Epsom Salts
2 cups -- Cornstarch
2 cups -- Baking Soda
10 - 20 -- Essential Oil (* optional *)
(drops)

DIRECTIONS: Mix ingredients together. Use 2 tablespoons per full bath of water. For unscented bath salts leave out the essential oil.

Store homemade bath salts in an air tight container. Since salt does not go bad, everything in this recipe will last, virtually, forever until it gets wet. Do not store as wet bath salts, since the goat milk will go bad.
