Sycamore Cottage Flowers
I create unique and authentic floral arrangements using flowers from my garden at Sycamore Cottage.
The flower stand is up and running and will be open until 11am. DM for address or if youβd like me to set one aside for you. Iβm also happy to create an arrangement for you if you canβt make it this morning. Happy Saturday! π»
Iβm excited to announce the Sycamore Cottage Fresh Flower Stand will be opening for the season tomorrow morning! 8-11am. DM for address. Iβll have a variety of jar bouquets for sale just like the one shown. $20. Stop by if you have a birthday youβre celebrating this weekend, want to surprise someone with beautiful flowers or just want to add a pop of color to your kitchen table! ππΊ
The Starlight dahlias are shining brightly in this arrangement! I have them paired with zinnias, hyacinth bean, cosmos, snow on the mountain and bridal wreath spirea foliage. I also tucked in some basil at the back for a beautiful aroma! βοΈ
Sunflowers are such happy flowers. Guaranteed to make someone smile! π»
The garden is awake and ready for cutting and making arrangements! So many beautiful zinnias, cosmos, roses and sunflowers! π
Found this little guy next to my front flower bed this evening. Had to relocate him as he was too close to the road. Heβs happy as a clam in his new spot and has lots of hiding places in the garden! Iβve had frogs, snakes, geckos but never a turtle! π’πΈ
The recent rain did wonders for the Sycamore Cottage garden! Isnβt this dahlia magnificent?! The gladiolus were all tight buds a few days ago and now itβs an explosion of color! βοΈπΊ
The Sycamore Cottage Flowers Stand is open! Give the gift of home grown, fresh flowers or treat yourself - lots of color and pretty blooms! Prices start at $15. Dm for more info.
Zinnias have got to be one of the best cut flowers for arrangements. There are so many varieties rich in color and they have such a long vase life. So, when a dear co-worker asked me to make an arrangement for a friend, I included a few of my favorites- zinnias, gomphrena and roses! πΊπΌ
Perfection! π»
I have really been enjoying the pro-cut red and pro-cut white sunflowers this season. They make their presence known in arrangements! My other fav is the teddy bear dwarf sunflower. So pretty! π
Happy, happy Sunflowers! ππ»
The first flower in my new cut flower garden has bloomed....a Teddy Bear Dwarf Sunflower! I'm looking forward to making some beautiful arrangements with the numerous varieties of sunflowers I planted. Their blooms are beautiful but so is the variegation on their leaves. π»πΏ
I did a quick walk-through of the garden before I cut some of these beauties for flower arrangements! The rain last night did wonders! πΊπΏ
The garden at Sycamore Cottage is starting to wake up! Soon many of the blooms will be featured in my spring flower arrangements. The roses are looking particularly glorious at the moment! Can't wait to add a few climbers to my collection this season. πΏπ₯
I did some antiquing this weekend and picked up this pretty soup tureen - perfect for highlighting my new Brindabella Purple Prince rose! I've always loved the combination of pink and purple with chartreuse green. ππΏπΊ
My Queen Elizabeth roses took center stage in this arrangement I made at the request of a dear coworker. They pair beautifully with the butterfly bush and bleeding heart vine. Definitely need gloves though...she's one thorny rose bush! πβ
I planted some celosia and gomphrena this weekend ready for my spring flower arrangements. I'm loving the pinks, purples and creamy whites at the moment...so pretty! π
The honeysuckle and jasmine are blooming prolifically at the moment. I think im going to have to add more support to my garden arch as the two plants have grown so much in the last year! They add an airy, whispy feel to an arrangement! πΏπ±πΌ
I used jasmine from my garden along with thryallis greenery as the framework for the arrangement and then filled in with some pretty mums and roses. Alstromeria is a favorite of mine in arrangements as it lasts so long! πΏβ
My gardening crew braving the thunderstorms to create an expanded cut flower garden! We were a soggy mess when we finished! Can't wait to see it in two month's time. π»πΊ
These sweet flower pots my daughter painted for me for Valentine's Day are perfect for showing off a cutting of my Flo Nelson rose. Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Hope it was a wonderful day for you. π₯°πͺ΄
The New Zealand Tea Tree is not generally a cut flower but it's so sweet especially for Valentine's Day arrangements! It's delicate, dainty and I can't wait to see the shrub in full bloom this spring! πΊπΏ
This beautiful rose, Sheila's Perfume, is satisfying my need for color as we deal with freezing temps! Looking forward to incorporating it into my flower arrangements as the scent is glorious! πΉπΏ
Got all my seeds for spring ordered (think zinnias galore and teddybear sunflowers!) and it got me craving spring colors! I'm so excited for my cut flower garden this year. Just finished these two arrangements to take to work at the hospital.πΊπΏ
My daughter helped pick the flowers for this arrangement and I'm loving the contrasting colors!
I was surprised to find these roses in bloom while walking the garden preparing for tonight's freeze. The many layers of this Pink Promise rose, along with its glorious smell, makes it one of my favorites.
Time to start thinking of our holiday tablescapes. I used some honeysuckle, alstromeria, juniper, pentas and a few other pretties from my garden to create this one using a holiday gift box. These make beautiful gifts as well!
Two new festive arrangements ready to be shared - the Chinese lantern blooms are the perfect color combination for a holiday arrangement and bring just a pop of whimsy!
I had fun sourcing lots of different flowers from the garden for this arrangement for a friend - Elina rose, orange queen alstromeria, blood berry, honeysuckle, Chinese lantern blooms and Mexican firebush. Love the final product and the vibrant colors!
This beautiful dahlia lives in my mother's garden. I can't wait to expand my cut flower garden this spring and plant several varieties of dahlias for my arrangements. Gorgeous! ππΏ
π Enjoy the warmth of the season with a beautiful and unique Thanksgiving arrangement. Dress up your holiday table with autumnal colors or share your love of the season by gifting one to your friends or family. Local delivery available. πΏ
πΏI'm loving all the different textures in my garden at the moment including these Duranta berries. The shrub has dainty purple flowers on it during the season followed by the berries. They look so pretty paired with sunflowers, thryallis, mums and ferns. π»π
My newest rose, Francis Meilland, and she's a beauty! She's the palest of pink mixed in with creamy white and has a strong citrus scent with dark green foliage. Can't wait to create an arrangement with her as the star of the show! βπΏ
How beautiful is this red leaf hibiscus? It looks so pretty next to the gaura and little ruby. I like to use the leaves in my arrangements for the richness and deep coloring they offer. So gorgeous! π₯°
How beautiful is this red leaf hibiscus? The color is so deep and striking. I like to use the leaves in my arrangements to ground them and bring some richness to it. So gorgeous! π₯°
I like to add flowers or shrubs from the garden that you wouldn't typically find in an arrangement (cat's whiskers, snow bush, honeysuckle etc) which means flower arrangements from Sycamore Cottage will never look like your typical grocery store bouquet! Adding different elements enhances the visual interest and adds texture to the arrangement. πΏπ
I created this for a friend tonight as a birthday gift - beautiful sugar moon rose, iceberg rose, blood berry and a few other pretties! My arrangements are always fresh from the garden and each one is unique and full of character and charm! πΏπΉ
My Sonia rose is on full display in this arrangement. She smells glorious! π
πΎ Thanksgiving tablescape using a real pumpkin as the vessel. Brighten up your holiday table with roses, goldenrod, greenery, mums and other autumnal beauties. No two arrangements are alike as it all depends on what's blooming in my garden at the time. Message me for more information. πΏπ
I tend to lean toward pink, purple and white colored blooms but do love an eye-catching, fiery red and orange arrangement! πΉπ§‘
