CCEA members spoke at yesterday's Schoolboard meeting, expressing their appreciation for the efforts of both bargaining teams. We hope to continue this momentum into next year's agreement.

Opportunity for a local educator…

Let's get the word out! The local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society of Key Women Educators (DKG) is sponsoring two grants valued at $1,000 each. One is for an aspiring teacher, a local woman enrolled in classes working on becoming a teacher. The other is for a female teacher presently working full-time who is taking post-graduate classes or is expanding her career through classes. Did you know today is ? It is a day to celebrate teachers’ contributions but also to reflect on the support they need to fully deploy their talent and vocation, and to rethink the way ahead for the profession globally.

With the theme "The teachers we need for the education we want: The global imperative to reverse the teacher shortage", the 2023 celebrations will aim to put the importance of stopping the decline in the number of teachers and then starting to increase that number at the top of the agenda for communities around the globe.

CCEA and CCSD return to the table for 23-24 salary negotiations on Wednesday at 4:30pm. CCEA continues to support proposals that address key interests of the employees in our bargaining units, most notably salary compression. Members of CCEA showed up for the 9/11/23 school board meeting to encourage the Board to prioritize valuing the experience of employees in this year's salary improvements.
