7 TIPS TO KEEP YOUR SKIN SAFE THIS SUMMER

July is Ultraviolet Safety Awareness Month and for good reason. Summer means more time outside and more chances of getting sunburned.

Protect your skin from UV radiation by following these 7 safety tips:
☀️Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects you from UVA and UVB rays.
☀️Choose a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
☀️Make sure your sunscreen is water-resistant so it stays on when you sweat or go swimming.
☀️Put sunscreen on 15 minutes before going outside; that’s how long it takes for your skin to absorb it.
☀️Use at least one ounce or three finger lengths of sunscreen to protect all exposed skin, including your neck, ears, feet and legs
☀️If you have thin hair, apply sunscreen to your scalp or wear a hat.
☀️Reapply sunscreen every two hours when outside. It’s also good to reapply after swimming or sweating, even when using water-resistant sunscreen.
