We extend our sincere gratitude to one of our second grader’s parents, the Moloneys for their invaluable contribution in educating our students about Equine Science, which focuses on the study of horses and their care. Ocala boasts one of the largest Equestrian Industries in the world, making this knowledge particularly relevant and enriching for our students.

🦃Friendsgiving 2023🍽️
Earlier this month, Immerse Church of Ocala and DLA began a challenge on who could collect the most lbs of non-perishable items. Immerse Church of Ocala vs. DLA, and of course, WE took the victory!!! We had so much fun doing this and the win was great!!! However, collectively, 2,100 lbs of food was collected, and many families were blessed with full meals. Thank you to our wonderful families who spearheaded this event.
Here at DLA, we believe in developing the whole child. This Thanksgiving season, we are encouraging our great little leaders to give back by donating non-perishable food items for our annual food drive. DLA currently has a friendly competition against Immerse Church of Ocala. Can you help us win this competition?
Today was Pink Day in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. We have two educators who are OVERCOMERS. Listen to our 4th and 5th graders tell our Breast Cancer Survivors what overcomer means.

Yesterday, Mr. Larry Johnson spoke to our little leaders about his father, The Rev. Leroy Johnson. Rev. Johnson is honored in the Marion County Black History Museum. Rev. Johnson was a local entrepreneur and the first Black Sheriff Deputy in Marion County. Here at DLA, we believe students of all colors and creeds are leaders.
