On the road again! 🚙 Thanks to some very special friends (you know who you are!) Gentle Carousel’s big blue van is back in action for a busy summer… carrying special equine love to those who need it the most.

Over 300 book and horse lovers attended the first Gentle Carousel's Reading with Horses annual literacy program of the summer at the Ocala Downtown Market. This summer's theme is Heroes and Helpers and the first week's book was Officer Magic Is My Friend. Thank you to the Ocala Police Department, Mayor Ben Marciano, Congresswoman Kat Cammack 's office, the Ocala Metro Chamber and Economic Partnership Ambassadors, the Marion County Memorial Honor Guard, the amazing veterans who joined us on the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the Early Learning Coalition of Marion County Inc, our Gentle Carousel volunteers and friends and this week's wonderful kickoff sponsor Pat Myers Electric for bringing this event to our community. Join us again next week to meet therapy horse Sundance. He is featured in the new book Second Chance Horses by Revell Publishing. Magic on Walk of Champions
Congratulations Magic! Most people know Hollywood’s famous Walk of Fame celebrating movie and TV stars. The Horse Capital of the World’s® Walk of Champions celebrates famous horses and equestrians. Little hero horse Magic now has her own plaque on the Walk of Champions (see her plaque in the comments). The Walk of Champions emerged from a partnership with the Marion County Board of County Commissioners, Ocala Metro Chamber and Economic Partnership with The CEP's Equine Initiative Ocala, presented by Pyranha, the city of Ocala, Ocala/Marion County Visitors and Convention Bureau and the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders' and Owners' Association, Ocala/Marion County, Florida. The official ribbon cutting included elected officials, business leaders, equine industry leaders and horse lovers.

Parkland Remberence
In honor of horse lover Meadow Pollack. Gentle Carousel was invited to bring love to families on Feb. 14, at the remembrance of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting in Parkland that took the lives of 17 people and left another 17 injured. Forever in Our Hearts was held at Eagles’ Haven with a candle-lighting ceremony and dove release. Magic and Circus worked in honor of horse lover Meadow Pollack. #GentleCarousel #ParklandStrong

Don’s 100th Birthday!
Happy 100th Birthday! Little hero horse Magic’s best buddy WW2 veteran Don sang a song for her at his 100th birthday party yesterday. A song from that young new singer Willie Nelson. Magic delivered all of the cards you sent to Don’s birthday party “Pony Express”. 🎂🐴 #GentleCarousel Trinity Springs

Circus at the Capital
Therapy horse Circus was a very good and very busy boy at the Florida State Capitol representing all of the wonderful horses living in Marion County. After hundreds of photos, hugs, some elevator rides and media interviews Circus is now on a well deserved vacation! 🏛️ #GentleCarousel

Little Hero Horse Magic was a special guest at the AVM Veterinary Conference at the Orange County Convention Center. 28,000 veterinarians and teams, one million square foot facility and many miles of walking so Magic could take bathroom breaks. Yes, all of our therapy horses are house trained. #GentleCarousel

Little Mercury ends a Gentle Carousel’s Reading with Horses school program with a run around the field. His tail is so long…even after a trim yesterday. Mercury’s part of the program was with his book “Mercury and Sirius”. #GentleCarousel
